Make sure when you load the pr0 file, the little icon turns GREEN in the system tray, then load the sim. In your MFD on your throttle it should say that JackBauer A-10 profile is loaded.

Jack got a job for you. Ok your right much better placement for the CM and I am used to the new radio buttons now but.

Any chance of using a mouse wheel/press to finish the radio commands instead of having to use the F keys. In arma/ofp you could highlight the radio menu with mouse wheel then press down to "enter" it.

Im familiar with SST but for some strange reason this PRO file, in SST, only shows bindings in the mini-stick axis's.

It should just contain assignments for the Ministick axis, as you say. And also the Throttle Slider for Speedbrake.

The rest of the controls are assigned within the sim. These are contained in the other file that comes with the .ZIP. (.lua) Load this into your controls page in DCS A10.

Sorry if I haven't understood what you where asking.

Yeah the beuty of this profile is most of it is done in the sim. I could never get the pinky modifier to take so ended up having to map the pinky to RALT and use that as a modifier but past that its relatively simple and painless to use.

I understand, "I think". What I dont understand is how the SST software meshes with the A-10c controls in the game after you load the Lua file. Or is it all mouse/click/keyboard controls ? And if you arent actually mapping anything to SST ?

Thank you.

OK, I get it. Once the Lua file is loaded the game talks to the controllers. Im so used to controlling with all PRO files.

Is there a best way to setup trackIR with this profile ? I gather you cant intermix between the two programs. Thank you.

TrackIR doesn't get setted up by the joystick profiles. It is a completely separated device.

Inside A-10C TrackIR has its own column in the Options -> Controls. There you can configure it to your liking, alongside own TrackIR software.

If you fire up A-10C and TIR doesn't work, then you may have to update its software and drivers.

Thank you for the reply. Perhaps I should have rephrased. What button on the controller do you use for your TrackIR ? At least for "center" ?

I see when I try and export your fine profile I get an entire series of text files. I'd like to know which ones indicate my Lua mappings so I can have a guide until I get used to them.

Thanks much for the help.

I turn off the "Clutch" ability and use that button for TrackIR recenter, it's not used in jacks profile (or he uses it for external voice comms)...iirc

OK clutch button #30. I'll try adding it to the Lua file. If not I'll map it in SST. Thank you.

I must admit I have not read the who thread if this has been asked before. But what am I doing wrong when this profile causes SFJackBauer A-10.pro does not contain a profile for this device..

I am on non-pro.

Standard X52 is fine.

Be aware that the profile does not contain many assignments. Almost all the controls are are assigned in sim, via Jack's .lua which is included with the .zip.

Read through the first couple pages of the thread theres a number of links to a tool that converts Pro version profiles to non-pro and vice versa.

I see. Still I have no idea whats wrong. Got nice HOTAS but cant use it ;S

I think the problem is you are confusing the Pro file, the one for Saitek SST, with the .Lua file, the one for DCS A-10c. The actual SST software is only mapped for a slider and a mini-stick. Everything else in jacks frofile is mapped in A-10s's Lua profile, that also unzipped with the Pro.

All the buttons for your controllers can be seen by right clicking the little joystic icon for Saiteks control panel. Now when you press the buttons you see little lights light up for that button, "note the pinky switch is #6". Now go to the MFD tab of the panel and uncheck enable clutch mode, "this give you an extra button to use for mapping.

Now open the sim, go to options/controls and hit the load profile button, find the .Lua file that came with the Pro and load Jacks .Lua profile for the X-52. Now you'll see all kinds of button numbers attached to sim control/keymaps. Thats how you fly the bird.

Now you have extra controls you can map, most of all using the pinky switch #6 button as a modifier. But also all the hat directions have buttons assigned to them. To find them just look for controls set to hats and see the button number for each direction you press the hat. Ive made a hybrid of SST and Lua commands. For instance with the clutch button now freed for assignment I mapped in SST the center command for my trackIR.

Hope this helps. Ive recently gone thru the same thing you are.

can someone post there keyboard.lua the pr0 is being assigned to my x52 properly as it spams the keys for slew/airbrake if i use those controls out of game but in game nothing, so i presume my keymap got broke somehow

Okay I get to step three and go back to change the keyboard shortcuts but there are no cells in that column now.

Do I need to reinstall or am I just not doing something correctly? Thanks in advance!

Hey Jack, great profile! Thanks! It has been working so far with one exception, and that is that the rudder/twist on the X52 Pro is not working for me and I'm trying to figure out how to reprogram it~ without luck. Any ideas? Thanks in advance. :)

Hey Jack,

Any chance you will be putting out an update to your in game profile bindings. If we use your current version the new bindings (in-flight briefings and such) for 1.1.0.8 are not included accordiing to the install instructions and other postings on 1.1.0.8. According to those if we do not delete our user directory saves and configs or if we import from 1.1.0.7 or older the new 1.1.0.8 bindings for the new commands included in the patch are not written or are written over and cause us to lose the new 1.1.0.8 added key commands.
