GunnDawg Posted October 15, 2010 Posted October 15, 2010 I have read the manual regarding CCIP drops and still cannot figure out whats going on here. Basically no matter what I drop in CCIP I have that X in the middle of my CCIP piper. Below is a link to a screenshot to better illustrate the situation. How do I correct this as my bombs are hitting off target! http://tinypic.com/r/2pzgwp5/7
pitbldr Posted October 15, 2010 Posted October 15, 2010 Hi, what's your approach to the release point? I've seen the X when I'm too steep. Try a lower altitude and shallower pitch angle. Have you read through the HUD portion of the manual? It goes over the resaons you'd get an X. See pages 361-367.
EvilBivol-1 Posted October 15, 2010 Posted October 15, 2010 Try setting the Safe Escape Maneuver (SEM) in the weapon profile from NONE to any of the other settings, such as CLM (climb). - EB [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Nothing is easy. Everything takes much longer. The Parable of Jane's A-10 Forum Rules
GunnDawg Posted October 15, 2010 Author Posted October 15, 2010 I have tried everything. Come at it higher with steeper dive, lower with a less steep dive. Some times the MRS is above the PIPER which doesnt give an X but when I pickle the weapons with the target in the center of the PIPER the bombs still land way off. ugh.
159th_Viper Posted October 15, 2010 Posted October 15, 2010 I have tried everything..... Have you tried what EB suggested? GunnDawg Posted October 15, 2010 Author Posted October 15, 2010 I couldnt find where to set SEM on the GBU-12's profile setup.
159th_Viper Posted October 15, 2010 Posted October 15, 2010 I couldnt find where to set SEM on the GBU-12's profile setup. Why on earth are you CCIP'ing a GBU-12? power5 Posted October 15, 2010 Posted October 15, 2010 Gbu12 is smart bomb use ccrp. Grab a gbu32 for ccip. Fly towards target at 20-30 angle keeping pipper on target. When reticule moves up to pipper drop bomb. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Aaron i7 2600k@4.4ghz, GTX1060-6gb, 16gb DDR3, T16000m, Track IR5 BS2-A10C-UH1-FC3-M2000-F18C-A4E-F14B-BF109
GunnDawg Posted October 15, 2010 Author Posted October 15, 2010 Doh! I flip flopped em, thought I had an MK82 ready to rip. Guess I should double check my DSMS. Would that make any difference though ?
GunnDawg Posted October 15, 2010 Author Posted October 15, 2010 Also is there anyway to change your weapon load out when doing quick missions? that's how I have been practicing and they don't give me any unguided bombs (at least I don't think). I am picking the very first one which gives you 2 x AGM, 1 x JDAM, 1 x GBU-12
Arclight Posted October 15, 2010 Posted October 15, 2010 Doh! I flip flopped em, thought I had an MK82 ready to rip. Guess I should double check my DSMS. Would that make any difference though ? There's a setting for CCRP release point calculation for LGB (I think). Toggles between "optimum" and "ballistic". Default is "optimum"; think if you set it to "ballistic", it will be closer on target if you drop it as a dumb-bomb. But seriouly; why would you? :D Changing load-out is possible in the mission-planner. Don't think quick missions give you that option, but not sure tbh. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] DCS A-10C: putting the 'art' into 'warthog'. (yes, corny. Sorry.)
power5 Posted October 15, 2010 Posted October 15, 2010 Guided munitions will only launch when launch variables are met. Could use the manual release (jettison stores) button though. Not sure on you accuracy though. I have tried when my jet gets shot to pieces but have not hit anytthing yet.
