Callsign.Vega Posted October 18, 2010 Posted October 18, 2010 Just curious to see how various other pilots have their multi-monitors set up. Do you prefer landscape or portrait? On one hand, landscape gives you a much wider view of the world yet a much smaller cockpit. Portrait gives you a smaller view of the game world, but a much higher detailed view of the cockpit and the world. DayGlow Posted October 18, 2010 Posted October 18, 2010 Run landscape myself. I like the wider FOV that stretches into my peripheral vision. Sense of speed is so much greater. arality Posted October 18, 2010 Posted October 18, 2010 I usually run landscape also, however A-10 multi-monitor is bugged so until ED has a chance to stomp the bug I'm running portrait.

You mean just landscape is bugged or? Portrait seems to work fine for me. I know the DCS series has always had issues with 3 monitor's and getting everything to look right. arality Posted October 18, 2010 Posted October 18, 2010 Well technically they are both bugged, try zooming past 179. Portrait is nowhere near as wide as landscape so 179 or less is an acceptable zoom. It makes a quick fix until official support comes for it.
willibeu Posted October 18, 2010 Posted October 18, 2010 Someone might get a kick out of this setup . This was with matrox and 4080x768 on 3 37 in. LCDs. Just moved to eyefinity and 5760x1080. Looks great with the A-10 in landscape...just a problem with Track IR centering too close to the dash of the A-10. Hoping they have a way to save new cockpit camera positions in the future. I tried Num0 RAlt... but does not seem to work. Going to try and put both MFCDs on a fourth screen the way I did it with the Abris and Shkval.
strykerpsg Posted October 18, 2010 Posted October 18, 2010 I just finished setting up my multi monitor setup and cannot get A-10 to span across all three. Instead, it shows up on my primary monitor as three screens combined onto the center screen. I have tried the 3 monitor option in settings, but still nothing. Anyone actually get the screens to show across all three? I am using two GTX470's in non-sli mode. Suggestions or recommendations greatly accepted. Matt
Manchu Posted October 19, 2010 Posted October 19, 2010 Yes however, I am using triplehead2go and it works great.
willibeu Posted October 19, 2010 Posted October 19, 2010 use the 1 screen setting and the appropriate aspect. Mine is set up for 1 screen at 5760x1080 with aspect of 5.333. Works perfect.
Callsign.Vega Posted October 19, 2010 Author Posted October 19, 2010 Do you guys get the horizon bending using 3 monitors in landscape? IE: does your view shift downwards on the side screens in relation to the center view? GPU: RTX 4090 - 3,000 MHz core / 12,000 MHz VRAM. What graphics card?
willibeu Posted October 19, 2010 Posted October 19, 2010 What kind of hardware are you using? What graphics card? 5870s in crossfire right now...before this with Matrox TH2GO I was using gtx260s in sli. CPU is i7 920 with Asus Revolution MB.

I have a GTX295 and i7 920; do u think it would be powerful enough? Too bad it is nearly impossible to find another GTX295 for a quad-sli (then again, it would require a killer PSU)
willibeu Posted October 20, 2010 Posted October 20, 2010 Yikes. I have a GTX295 and i7 920; do u think it would be powerful enough? Too bad it is nearly impossible to find another GTX295 for a quad-sli (then again, it would require a killer PSU) My experience is with Matrox and Eyefinity 6 for running Four screens. I have yet to try Nvidia cards with their new drivers allowing 3 screens. I understand now my gtx 260s in sli will be able to run surround. Eyefinity allows up to six screens which is why I use it. I would run your GTX295s in SLI and you should be good to go. My two GTX260s ran four screens beautifully with Matrox but my resolution was limited to 4080x768. About power.... I run two PSUs in my computer ....one devoted just to the GPUs.
Callsign.Vega Posted November 30, 2010 Author Posted November 30, 2010 nVidia will be releasing GTX 595's which should allow quad-SLI out of 2x PCI-E slots just like the GTX 295's mentioned here. Hopefully they have fixed some of the scaling issues with quad SLI as I need it to push some serious pixels. GPU: RTX 4090 - 3,000 MHz core / 12,000 MHz VRAM.
