Hi Slack, yes I'm having the same problem as well. My X-65F joystick is also not exactly centered but then it's not a big problem in my opinion though. It would be nice if Saitek could come up with a fix for it but currently the deviation from the center is not that big. A small dead zone takes care of it.

You should've posted this in Input and Output because probably there you would've gotten more replies considering the topic of this thread :). You can try asking one of the moderator to move it there if you want.

Hmmm roger that,

but it's a force sensing stick! if u have an offset to the right and make a deadzon. Wouldn't you need to use more force to steer left then u would to steer right?? That makes the stick very hard to get used to and make teh force sensing useless imo.

@moderators. Could u please move this thread to Input and Output.

Regards,

You can have asymmetric deadzones. Just right click on axis X or Y in Saitek control panel and make sure "Link Deadzones" is unchecked. If one of the axis is completely off center put your stick in the level position, disconnect cable from the stick and then reconnect - works for me.

Also depends what force setting you are using (I am using slightly modify F3 which is almost the same as used on F-16) my advise would be to put your hand on the stick and then set up the deadzones because most of the time you will fly with your hand on the stick. Set up your deadzones big enough so when you press i.e. weapon release, plane won't pitch down cause you pushed the stick forward.

Thx for the peplies guys,

I've sent the stick back cuz although yuo can indeed do all of this. I have not payed 300 euros for a misalligned stick wich is not allignable. Even my old X45 is still deadcenter and does not need deadzones!

So thank you! Any advise bout a new stick??

X-65F or TM WH

Ok... So I'm thinking of going with the x65f vice the TM. I'm getting ready to build a new rig and don't think I could justify the TM right now. I think it looks better, And the quality is unquestionable, but the x65f has a z axis and costs less. Just thinking out loud here, but what suggestions do you guys have? Running a x52 standard for the past 2 years.

FYI - Saitek is has relased drivers for the X-65 that include calibration for the axis.

Whle still not perfect, they are working on the problem.

Kind of a pickle at the moment between the X-65 and the Warthog. The X-65's seem to have a number of people with the X axis not being centered (for some it only shows in the windows property screen and not ingame or the Saitek software). The Warthog is suffering sudden deaths and not being recognized by Windows. That and firmware updates that can go wrong and require the stick to be replaced.

I'm just sitting back, continuing to use my old trusty X-52 and waiting to see who gets their software/driver/firmware issues worked out first :D

They have released beta drivers with a calibration option built-in, but they broke the force settings(don't save anymore) at the same time.

Unless l missing something, the latest drivers for Win7 x64 don't have axis calibration, nor does the X-65F need it if the consensus here is correct:

I hear ya and until SOMEONE makes somthing that can be worth the price tag, im not going to buy A10c even though I should ASAP. Anyway, Im just about to give up on flying for awhile. My Hotas setup is crap and I cant justify investing in new stuff esp since Im not rich. The CH stuff seems to get the less flak and hell im almost willing to go with it ...even though...this or that. Im getting sick of waiting for something worth my money. Ill put the work in but damn, get us something stable to work with!

Seems like all these new HOTAS that cost a ton of money are all having problems. Not centered, throttles dead, I'd be a little upset. These companies need to get fixes for this stuff fast.

When i intalled the x65f with the drivers from the cd that came with i ended up with a very noticeably uncentered stick, but all i needed to do was to download the drivers from their site and i got a perfectly centered stick and not a single problem after that. Sure, that was way before this new drivers came by, havent checked if you can still find the older versions.

Edit:i just re-read Le0Kong post, if the drivers are beta theres still hope lol

Ah nice one. As you can imagine, I can't register on their forum yet so was waiting for a good day to do what they recommend and phone up the UK distro... :megalol:

Since my current workaround is effective, I'm going to stay away from those beta drivers for the time being.
