Yes, it's currently in beta, you can only fly the A-10C and it costs $60 to patch.

Intelligent discourse can only begin with the honest admission of your own fallibility.

It remains to be seen. There are alot of factors at work. Sadly I'm not expecting much. Afterall they gotta finish up DCS:A10C, then patch up Ka-50 to play with A10C.

If any updates are made to FC2 they will either forget patching Ka-50 to play with FC2 to save time or they will keep it patched with FC2. Either way if they patch FC2 then patch or ignore patching Ka-50 to play with it, there will be massive amounts of complaining and confusion. Afterall why patch FC2 to play with Ka-50 but not loop A-10C in also, but if they were to update FC2 and ignore patching Ka-50 why did they make it compatible for only half a year?

However the chips fall, in the end FC2 will become the red headed step child to DCS games.

i am too lazy to search your "opinion" in the DCS-BS-forum section.

Yeh, sorry bout that. I'll try to sum it up in easier terms...

If FC2 gets additional patches and Black Shark doesn't get patched to retain online compatibility = why bother making them compatible for only a few months?

If FC2 gets additional patches and Black Shark gets patched to retain compatibility = why not patch A-10C?

Either way people would be upset regarding a decision. And Mower would need to use his gift if a decision is ever made. -_-

Here's the way I see it. Single optional patch for BS that will allow MP play with A-10C.

And thats it. No patches for FC2.0

Thats probably whats gonna happen. But I wonder if dual installs of BS would be needed to maintain compatibility, with one install for A10C and another for FC2.

That will completely depend on you but you won't need to install two copies. what you need to do is copy the whole setup you have which is compatible with FC2 to some location and install the patch that will come to make it compatible with A-10C. Now rename the copied setup by other name like ka-51 and copy it side by side at your original location. Now when you want your Ka-50 compatible with FC2 name that install as Ka-50 and and other as ka-52 and enjoy. and when you want it compatible with A-10C rename that install as Ka-50 and other as you like and enjoy, as simple as that.

Than for that they will have to go down the ladder rather than climbing up. There are a lot of things ED has put in new in A-10C so there is no way they will do it. So the only thing will happen is patch Ka-50.

But as I said in one of my posts in other topics ED has released its A-10C beta in DX9 so if they what to move to dx11 in their future products they will again have to to patch Ka-50 and A-10C. What I suggest is make a more advance game engine which can endure its reign at least till 6-7 products of DCS-series. In that way ED will not have to patch every old product to make it compatible with new one, coz they already be having the same technology. But if ED chooses to make DCS series in an evolving way than they will have to waste time in patching their all old products, which seems tedious to me. So what I think is that the final patch which will come for A-10C should be so advance in its features that its engine can directly be used directly for all new coming products of DCs-series.

I think it was great we got FC2 and am thankful to ED for it. We got some nice things for sure to tie us over. There are bugs still in FC2, but ED have limited resources and IMO should just move on. You won't see a patch for FC2 unless it is a compatibility patch for A-10. A FAQ mentions this is unlikely. Good, get A-10 done sooner, then Ka-50 patch, then I hope DCS:Fighter . I'd even be happy if they skipped the Ka-50 compatibility patch until after the next DCS project.
