Does the sim have a built in random failure for systems? I'm not complaining just wondered if it's an option or not in the up and coming builds? I have a "hung stores" and some other warning lights come on during some missions i thought this was due to my ineptness but past experience has taught me that's those sort of things are usually someone else's fault :)

Hung stations are supposedly situational and have nothing to do with the predictive failure functions of map building, though it has been said in previous posts that this function is a WIP and should be fully implemented by launch.

shows what to do with hung stores.

It's a good thing that this is Early Access and we've all volunteered to help test and enhance this work in progress... despite the frustrations inherent in the task with even the simplest of software... otherwise people might not understand that this incredibly complex unfinished module is unfinished. /light-hearted sarcasm

I have had my Left MFCD and the CICU randomly fail before. I wasn't engaged in any targets, but on my way to them when all off a sudden the MFCD shut off or the CICU warning indicator started flashing (2 separate occasions) and my gauges stopped working :( I though it was pretty cool that it did that and actually quite enjoyed that as I'm sure that could happen in real life.

You get Hung store failure if you quick press the weapons launcher instead of holding it with surtain weapons like GBU 31/38 for instance. If you get that failure you can reset the the failed store by reloading the weapon in the inventory.

Here's a video showing the proceedure:

Not engaging pitot heat will cause CICU failure according to Wags. Run through checklists even if you think you have every step memorized. Pilots with thousands of hours still use the CL. I use voice activated lists

No, I said a pitot heat failure may explain a CADC failure.

THAT explains my own CADC problems, thank you sir!

Right, CADC.. I stand corrected sir. Thanks for the help, as always.

Was wondering about random failures myself. Especially thinking about cold cockpit startups. Start her up and realize some things are broken. Wouldn't be the most fun thing, but more realistic I suppose.

I had my right MFD fail just after rotation yesterday.

The fun part was that the bottom 1/3 of the left MFD was obscured by a message that

read that the right MFD had failed...

When this happens there is a CLEAR function that appears on the bottom MFD buttons, pop and and the message will vanish (slight cillit bang moment there).

I had a right engine fail to start on the ramp once. It was a while ago and I'm not sure if I missed a step, I don't think I did.

I placed the throttle in the OFF position, cranked the right engine to clear any fuel and re-started the start process. It started up and ran fine after that.

"Simultaneous selection of fuel dump and afterburner during high AOA

maneuvering may cause fuel to ignite with resulting fuselage damage."
