Startup tutorial stops/bug?

When it comes to the button under the right throttle (EAC?), it clicks, but don't move. I also have the key mapped to my keyboard.. same thing there, clicks but don't move.

 

Any workarounds?

Yes, the main work around is Search Before Posting. :)

 

The animation of that switch is broken in the current beta. To enable/disable EAC you need to map a key to it in Options and use that. There's also a version of the mission without that step around as well.

I searched for startup tutorial, startup tutorial bug, startup stops, startup bug... and found shit.. and as I already mentioned I have it mapped to keyboard, it just refuses to continue.

 

Guess I'll wait for next beta before I try the startup again

A search for EAC would find it. There is a version of the mission in these forums with the EAC step removed for now.

 

It happens though. People make an honest attempt to find thing but don't. This is where the community should maybe utilize a wiki, but it's not happening it seems.

Note that to confirm you've activated EAC during start up (since the switch doesn't move yet), you can watch the EAC light on the caution light panel go out when you activate.

Bind a key to the EAC so you can turn it on with a key press then Hit Enter key on the UFC to continue the tutorial. Works for me but not sure why hehe.

I think the EAC is bound to a trim command at the moment but will be changed in next release (from what I've read)

I will NEVER post a question in the 'normal' a-10c forum again.. since they all get sent to the Open Beta forum, Where there are supposed to be only hardware problems posted. And I get hung out like an idiot, that can't read a manual, or know exactly what page 90xxx says!

 

I'll just stay silent, and hope for the next beta!

Just read the "Welcome PLEASE READ" announcement you first see when getting into the beta forums and pay attention to questions that get asked and you'll be fine. :)
