Rockeyes Posted November 4, 2010 Posted November 4, 2010 I was thinking about having a go at building a Simhangar' ACES2 seat, possibly starting this weekend. However I'm struggling to find a comparison between the F16 and the A-10 version. Can anyone point me in the right direction or know what angle the A10 seat sits at? Thanks Checkout http://www.ejectionsite.com/frame_sg.htm for some of this info Ping Deadman to buy a copy of the ACESII tech manual (well worth it) For the angles, can't say for sure. I'll set my seat on the base of a elec controlled car seat ;-) to enable some adjustments 1 - - - -
Deadman Posted November 4, 2010 Posted November 4, 2010 A-10 is reclined to a 15 degree angle. The general shape is similar between F-16 and A-10 but there are some major differences the largest being the type or shape of the seat pan.Its not a flat board :megalol: https://forum.dcs.world/topic/133818-deadmans-cockpit-base-plans/#comment-133824 CNCs and Laser engravers are great but they can't do squat with out a precise set of plans.
Avilator Posted November 4, 2010 Posted November 4, 2010 Another difference: the A-10 has two eject handles, one on each side, and the F-16 has one handle in the middle. Rockeyes Posted November 4, 2010 Author Posted November 4, 2010 Thanks for the link and reply .....Now I think my brain has now jumped into gear. I was getting hung up on the fact the F16 is racked back to 30Deg which was too much for the A10, but did not realise that its the way the seat is mounted to the airframe and not the angle between the seats base and back:music_whistling:. Great web page you have there by the way. Very useful. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] HTC Vive Windows 10 Maximus VIII Hero i7-6700k CPU @ 4.2GHz 16GB Nvida GeForce GTX 1080. Ram Duel SSD's
