No idea and that is very unusual since you are over water and there nothing else in FoV to reduce framerate.

Its RADAR dude, when I make it on I lose my FPS.

Dude... it can't be the radar being on making this hit... and as I said you are over water that eleminates objects making a hit.... so dude... you have something very wrong either on your PC or your game installation :music_whistling:

That's the 1st time I have seen something like that. Radar on and you drop 30+ FPS, very weird. Might be best to do a quick reinstall. Radar should give you a FPS drop like that. Yes we have all heard that the Mav and 25T screens do, but not the radar on a fighter. Try a different fighter and see if it does the same thing like Devilman said, also can you test the A-10 and 25T with the screens on and off.

i had a unique problem with lock on fc (1) with my old pc, for the life of me i couldnt work it out, but as soon as i switched on my hotas profile, the game would run at a slide show.

i ended up just installing windows XP (32bit) again to solve problem however this made my pc crash randomly.

after mucking around i found that my bios wasnt the latest version so updated it and like a dream everything worked again.

what the bios update did was give correct support to the dual core's

check device manager and look for any devices that are unknown or under a generic title.

Specs of PC.

Windows 7 x64

Athlon X2 2.7GHz

4 Gb RAM

Asus M2N68-AM2 plus MB

Seagate HDD 320Gb + 1Tb (OS on 320 Gb and game on 1Tb

Asus ATI HD 5750

Logitech 3D force

LG 1376 x 786

Ans yes it happens in every fighter. And one more thing in fighter fps goes normal once I have locked on the target.

Also there is a very low fps drop of some 3 to 4 when I'm in A-10 or Su-25T and turn on my skval.

That low FPS has to be CPU running too slow or something, you could try what Devilman did and check for motherboard BIOS and see if there is an update for it. By the way what game setting are you running?

every time you use the target designator or have an option to you exprence the low fps ?

try running a test with out your stick profile or stick pluged in.

No, not like that. FPS dips as soon as I press "I key" to turn on the RADAR. It does not matter if the stick is there or not.

I will try bois but I guess they are up to date. If CPU was slow how couldd I again gain FPS as soon as I lock up a target. FPS dips in scan and TWS mode only and not in STT mode.

Do a ctrl-alt-delete and look at the CPU usage in task manager, also check to see how much memory lockon is using. Thirdly, go to the logs folder and check the error log to see if anything out of the ordinary is happening. Have you messed with lua's or anything, like using a virtual panel? Just some thoughts.

That's what I would look at, also check to see how many things you have running in there.

The are a total of 102 processes running when I'm doing nothing on my PC and I started having this problem recently, I have my joystick since a year.

So your saying it was working fine at one point? That makes me think it might be some kind of setting, maybe a lua exporting too much. Have you tried a fresh install of fc2 yet? Also, you really shouldn't need 102 processes running, I have like 30 max. Turn off any antivirus apps or things you don't need while summing which is basically everything(almost).

The point is I get 35-40 FPS at 5000mtrs flying e route, but as soon as I turn on my RADAR I loose my FPS and when I lock on the target I get my FPS back. 102 processes or 200 nothing is affecting my FPS when RADAR is off or RADAR is on and target is locked.

And yes it was running fine at one point. There no setting that can affect my fps by turning on RADAR or lua exporting which runs continuously.

LUA scripts can cause too much CPU cycles if not coded properly... first you need to reinstall the game without any mods and see if you still get this as it can't be the default game itself doing this.

I'd do what Kuky said, reinstall. After that check to see if them same thing is happening, if not, slowing install whatever mods you had. Note the FPS change after you install each mod, one at a time.

It did the same thing after you reinstalled the game? If that's so did you have any mods/scripts installed?

That's very strange that the radar is doing that.
