Today, I started new mission from parking area, started my port engine, than starboard, asked for taxi clearence, applied little throtle to start moving...after few meters, I heard strange sound, like something burning, then checked my external view, and noticed that my port engine was on fire!!!!! I checked my temperature gauge and it was in red zone...I decided to shut down engine (not using my fire extuingisher), imediatly flames where gone...I started again, and after few minutes the flame was back again...I had to scrap the entire mission because of it....I think this simulation is brautifull in every way!!!!!!!!!!!!

I think that you hung revs when moved your throttle forward. If you do it too early before the revs of the engine pass 18% the revs stay at this level while the temperature keeps rizing. Eventually the engine can be on fire.

In Extreme Extinguisher Emergencies use CTRL-E CTRL-E CTRL-E

More seriously, for engine fires - turn off the engines and restart

RWIN END Both Engines

ALT-RWIN END Left Engine Off

SHIFT-RWIN END Right Engine Off

RWIN HOME - Start Engines(make sure throttle is low to avoid flooding)

Thats cool how you can do that, I often shut down the engine thats on fire and continue flying(normally from being hit by SAMS and AAA). BTW it looks very cool when you do this.

Heres an example of when I got hit by a SAM. The engines shut down and the blades stop spinning.

Hreich: If you look in the Lockon 1.1 manual on page 211, you will find the cold engine start procedure for the Su-25 and Su-25T. Basically, make sure the throttles are set at idle before you start the engines, and wait for RPMs to come up to at least 16 - 18% before you advance the throttles. If you don't, you will flood the engine with fuel and possibly start an engine fire, such as the one you were describing.

If you're feeling lucky, you can also shut down and try a windmill start to get them going again. I'm curious, has anyone tried or pulled off a windmill start yet?
