ILS Tutorial video sought

Hi friends, it's me again asking for more help.

 

I am reading up on ILS and am more confused than ever. On page 491 (under ILS Approach), Figure 388. ADI Displaying ILS Steering seems to be contradicting itself.

 

Firstly the pitch steering bar is above centre which suggests to me that I am low and need to nose up. But the Glide Slope Deviation Scale and Glide Slope Indicator is below centre, which suggests to me that I am high and need to nose down. I find the explanation confusing at best regardless.

 

Also, "4. Glide Slope Warning Flag. When displayed, this indicates that there is a problem in receives adequate glide slope signal." - What exactly is this pointing at?

 

Would anyone be willing to do an ILS tutorial video?

1. From planning on mission map (where to set best IAF waypoint)

2. How to get ILS frequencies (I know they are in manual, but where on f10 map?)

3. How to initiate ILS comms radio

4. How to read ADI and HSI under IFR

5. Can autopilot fly ILS in this aircraft ? how?

 

I realise all this is exaplined in the manual, but after THREE WEEKS of reading and trying and , I have still not achieved an ILS landing.

There is one around someplace, did you do a search on You Tube? That is the 2nd place I look (after the user mission area). A search under DCS A-10 will get you most of what you might find.

Yes I did a search on google and youtube. There is an ILS approach video on youtube and this one (http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=60648) here. However, both are silent as in they contain no dialog; so they are ineffective as training or tutorial tools.

 

So the quest for a good ILS video tutorial remains. Cam anyone help?

Do not follow the steering bars... it's a WIP. Better hide them switching the "PTR" switch on the NMSP to "stow" and fly the deviation bars on the ADI and HSI instead.

I'm guessing you have done the landing tutorial in the sim? This taught me how to ILS land, I looked at the manual after to verify some things, but the included sim tutorial is perfectly adequate.

EDIT: If you are referring to the landing tutorial, I posted about that in another thread here. I follow it to the letter but it just leads me out to sea. It doesn't seem to work.

I don't think anyone is gonna make a tutorial video for a system that is "buggy" in the current beta. However, you could ask people to post the track of them doing the landing training which gives you narration plus someone doing the flying.

I tested all of them and they are all working just fine (except from a few minor buggies). The ILS training mission is working just fine as well and it really helped me (I just have to watch it again... don't remember much... everything happened really fast at the end).
