Started twice the AFT02 mission but the F117 got twice stuck on the runway because of an a10c wreak. So all the other planes stay in position on the taxiway....

Edit : after checking on tacview, both time the F117 landed but the first A10C tries to take off as the F117 is still on the runway and hit him. As the F117 is just landing, I deleted it and will try again.

Got it on first try with a Q-. Maybe because I was told once I was too close from tanker while waiting my turn. Loved the divert and landing.

Appreciate you reporting issues found in the missions but for everyone, please include the mission version # displayed in the briefing and whether you were flying in DCS World 1.2 or DCS World OpenBeta 1.5.

That will help us quickly narrow down the issue and put it on the list for any package updates.

I expect we will be making some updates to the OpenBeta packages soon as we continue to find other annoying issues (like the continuous RTB radio issue).

i have already tested that, but each time i delete the old files my new campaign is unactive ....

Too much time passed on refuleling to do it again :P

You can manually set the campaign stage in your logbook file. If you don't have it, download and install Notepad++. This editor allows for proper editing of lua files. Make a backup copy before you do any manual editing just in case.

To change the campaign stage look for a file called: <Drive>:\Users\<your userid>\Saved Games\DCS or DCS OpenBeta\MissionEditor\logbook.lua

You can change the stage here:

["games"] =

{

[1] =

{

["created"] = "05/06/2013 4:28:32 PM",

["player"] = "Me",

["campaign"] = "./mods/aircrafts/Su-25T/Missions/en/Campaigns/Georgian Oil War - Grand Campaign.cmp",

["status"] = "Active",

["history"] =

{

[1] = <---- Select the section with the largest number - that is your latest entry.

{

["datetime"] = "05/06/2013 4:31:09 PM",

["agKills"] = 0,

["aaKills"] = 0,

["stage"] = 3, <----- Set this number to a different stage in the campaign.

["deathsCount"] = 0,

["result"] = 0,

["mission"] = "ATO-A-P3.4.miz", <--- Set this to the mission name.

}, -- end of [1]

}, -- end of ["history"]

}, -- end of [1]

}, -- end of ["games"]

We managed to get some updates done this past weekend.

We now have the practice mission packages updated for the OpenBeta 1.5:

OpenBeta 1.5 BFT Practice Mission Package

OpenBeta 1.5 AAT Practice Mission Package

As part of the testing/updates for the practice missions we updated BFT12 - Low Level Flight Plan to make the FE less erratic and also increased the in formation zone to make it easier to stay in formation. We also updated the AAT package to fix the issue with the F-117 crash on the runway.

You can download these updated packages here:

OpenBeta 1.5 BFT Campaign Package

OpenBeta 1.5 AAT Campaign Package Part A

OpenBeta 1.5 AAT Campaign Package Part B

Your mission key and password can be used to install these updated packages and your campaign progress will not be impacted as it is recorded in your logbook.

Please continue to report any OpenBeta issues in this thread and we will continue to update the packages as we work towards the DCS 2.0 release.

Thanks.

Great, thanks.

I found a problem in AFT01 just now.

The tanker was not present at all (checked the radio, the TCN, and then moved to F10 vue, no tanker !)

Anybody seens this ?

The campaign mission.

I launched it at least 6 time and it's the first time it appears (but not in the last version from today that I download just now - but nothing in the changelog rergading AFT01 I think)

I just tested both practice and campaign missions. The tanker was visible in both however in the campaign mission the tanker does not appear until after you take off (make sure you take off from the East end of the runway - there is a trigger zone that activates the tanker and 2xF-16 escorts).

I found some other issues in the OpenBeta (like the annoying RTB bug from one of the flights. Also it looks like the TACAN setting has to be 5 Y instead of 5 X and no range info is provided but the needle will point at the tanker - that is likely another OpenBeta problem - hey it's OpenBeta so you have to expect some issues).

I'll do some more updates on this mission (I suspect similar problems with AFT02 as well) and provide an updated package later today.

ATc ask us to take off at the opposite direction from the route as far as I remember.

Is it what makes the trigger not 100% accuracy ?

TACAN always worked for me on 5X when the tanker is here, that's strange that now it's 5Y.

Don't worry I understand it is beta, it's just taht AAR is the biggest challenge ever for me !

I will practice with the training mission now that they are updated instead of the campaign for a while

Thanks for the update !

Yes there was an issue with the wind direction and takeoff in the OpenBeta and that was recently corrected.

You should take off in the same direction as the preceding aircraft and the runway identified by ATC when you request taxi clearance (Runway 25 in my test).

Not sure why the TACAN was different but I'll see if I can fix it with the next update.

Ok I'm directed to the east (Rwy 7 ?)

Just launched DCS_updater, there is an update... maybe it will fix it (already had hotfix 1 and 2 though...)

[sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]

Ok the last hotfix fixes it.

But now I made 2 attempt (with 4-5 10sec refuel, I'm proud) but DCS crash with an access violation before I could go to the airfield :( (not your fault I know).

Found my way for AAR : Jut a little bit nose heavy on the trim and it works like a charm :)

In AFT01 single mission, on 1.2.16, should anything happen after you succesfully refuel fully? I just managed to fill my tanks up (with two disconnects though), but the FE didn't acknowledge that, and kept acting as if I had to refuel.

I'm probably doing something wrong or missing something.

EDIT: On my third attempt I just managed to fully refill my tanks without disconnects, and still don't get any instructions afterwards.

EDIT: On my third attempt I just managed to fully refill my tanks without disconnects, and still don't get any instructions afterwards.

According to the briefing: "This PO will require you to perform multiple air to air refuelings. Do not fill your tank on the first connection."

The mission is to test your ability to make multiple connects and disconnects.

In the mission the FE will say "For this PO you have to make 3 successful connections lasting 10 seconds each before we reach WP 7."

So if you can fill the tanks in one or two goes that's very good but you need to do that at least 3 times in the mission for the FE to say you passed.

When we first designed this mission I believe there was a working autopilot which made the connections and refueling too easy.

It's much more challenging now, so testing that you can connect and then reconnect within the mission flight plan is a better test.

After you hear the "Well Done!" message from the FE, you can disconnect and reconnect again. Even after 3 successful connects and disconnects you can still keep practicing your connects until WP 7.
