ED Team Chizh Posted June 6, 2005 Author ED Team Posted June 6, 2005 are you going to include strikemax's flanker 3d model in the sim for 1.2 ? :p Where it can be looked? and one more thing...:P this is about fps issues... is it possible to make optimizations to engine i.e., when i have scenes to high and visibility high...even though I can't see a city which is far far away...the fps hogs by just looking in that direction. It's hard issue. You think if we would be able to do it we any more would not make it? Dimas_rs Posted April 8, 2006 Posted April 8, 2006 Should I try to create an F-18 Hornet cocpit? Well, I see there is a lot of awsome stuff coming in for Lock On FC :icon_supe . However, one thing that is long waited by people at the west, doesn't seem to be anywhere close :( . An F-18 multirole fighter capable of carrying AGM's guided missiles ang GBU's lazer guided bombs. It carryies flir and other pod for lazing targets. I have been waiting for this plane to appear at LOMAC for far too long. This plane is also used very frequently by the NATO in many of their operations, so I donno why is it not included in LOMAC. Now that I know that it is possible to addon cocpits. I could attempt on creating F-18's cocpit model.
504 Wolverine Posted April 8, 2006 Posted April 8, 2006 so I donno why is it not included in LOMAC. This is discussed frequently on these forums. Do a search on it but basically its not modelled because the manuals needed to model it correctly as a flyable are classified (like all other US naval aircraft). NATO will get a multirole aircraft in the next generation sim from ED (F-16CJ), with AFM and clickable 3D 6DoF cockpit. called “Destroyer” (lol… runs for cover before Britgliderpilot gets here) :p :icon_lol: (Destroyer is an in forum joke... A bad Babelfish translation) [/url]
aimmaverick Posted April 8, 2006 Posted April 8, 2006 Nice model. In the last pic you can see the taxiway thru the hardened shelters ... odd? Yes its a "special technique" (transparency) which should increase our FPS and they say it looks better than method used in 1.02. Give me a brake! It doesnt increase FPS at all, (the gpu must draw things otherwise unseen making extra stress) image quality is crapy because we can see stuff throught solid objects-very odd and ugly. Its a shame looking new 1.1 screenshots with such worse scenery than it was in 1.02 - which was great btw it just had pop up issues. I hope they will find a final solution for Black Shark.
Dimas_rs Posted April 8, 2006 Posted April 8, 2006 Well, I know the way to find most of F-18 stuff There is this book, which is called "The great book of Modern Warplanes". This book features most of the information about A-10A, F-15, F-16, F-14, F-18, and some russian planes, which are already included in LOMAC. Here is the link https://www.historicaviation.com/historicaviation/product_info.po?ID=7279&product=Books&category=military&subcategory=Encyclopedias I have read this book before, but it was 3 years ago, and I will try to go to the library and see if it has what I believe it has. This book does not feature up to date weapon systems, since as you said, tose are classified. But it has many many descriptions, pictures, cocpit illustrations, system descriptions exactly step-by-step how they work. And even some engagement tactics.:D
