bradleyjs Posted December 13, 2010 Posted December 13, 2010 I noticed this yesterday and can't seem to find out how to "find the Note" -- anyone ever seen this; and if so, how do I read the message -= - my initial guess is the CDU... Frederf Posted December 13, 2010 Posted December 13, 2010 On the MFCDs. One of the more common notes is "CHECK EO TIMER" or something which is Mavericks running >30 minutes. Reset warning-caution-note with TMS left. Some notes are misplaced in the betas at the lower right corner of the screen instead of readable centered,
power5 Posted December 14, 2010 Posted December 14, 2010 Thought there was a message button on the right MFD or something to that effect. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Aaron i7 2600k@4.4ghz, GTX1060-6gb, 16gb DDR3, T16000m, Track IR5 BS2-A10C-UH1-FC3-M2000-F18C-A4E-F14B-BF109
MTFDarkEagle Posted December 14, 2010 Posted December 14, 2010 Yes there is, but as Frederf explained some notes are misplaced (beta issue I guess) Lukas - "TIN TIN" - 9th Shrek Air Strike Squadron TIN TIN's Cockpit thread
ED Team Wags Posted December 14, 2010 ED Team Posted December 14, 2010 As always, a screen shot or track would help greatly. Some notes are centered in the MFCD while others are correctly in the bottom right corner (like EO time). 1 Youtube: https://www.youtube.com/user/wagmatt Twitch: wagmatt System: https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?p=3729544#post3729544
bradleyjs Posted December 14, 2010 Author Posted December 14, 2010 Yeah I should have taken a screenshot or track -- but I didn't really think about it until a few days later... sorry.. Frederf Posted December 14, 2010 Posted December 14, 2010 Thought there was a message button on the right MFD or something to that effect. That's the page for datalink messages. The HUD "note" always always indicates a note of the WCN type. A new datalink message will generate a WCN though, but it's a separate notification to the message itself. I don't know if simply accessing the message clears the notification. Some notes are centered in the MFCD while others are correctly in the bottom right corner (like EO time). That's so weird that a note would intentionally be unable to be read in full. Is there a place where you can read notes in full? Yeah I should have taken a screenshot or track -- but I didn't really think about it until a few days later... sorry.. After you fly a track is generated automatically. It should be something like LastMission.trk in the temp folder.
bradleyjs Posted December 14, 2010 Author Posted December 14, 2010 >>After you fly a track is generated automatically. It should be something like LastMission.trk in the temp folder. Good info, thanks. But, I didn't start thinking about it until several days after (and several more missions under-my-belt) - then I posted this thread.. But, am more wise now than before.. nomdeplume Posted December 15, 2010 Posted December 15, 2010 That's so weird that a note would intentionally be unable to be read in full. Is there a place where you can read notes in full? Which notes are unreadable? Maybe try to grab a screenshot next time you see one.
Frederf Posted December 15, 2010 Posted December 15, 2010 The Check EO Timer one for example. It's off the bottom right hand corner of the MFD and you can only see "CH / EO" but it's obvious that there is more to the note.

I think only a few pixels on the right hand side are cut off, and it says CHCK EO TIME (right-aligned). Although I was only looking at the right MFCD, so maybe it's worse on the left? It does seem slightly misaligned, but if they said that's how it actually is in the aircraft I wouldn't be all that surprised.
ErichVon Posted April 13, 2011 Posted April 13, 2011 (edited) I noticed this yesterday and can't seem to find out how to "find the Note" -- anyone ever seen this; and if so, how do I read the message -= - my initial guess is the CDU... Yes I have, in the $60 purchased version, (.7 Patch #2) is still a lower HUD centered message. Does this - Note - refer to anything else? I searched for it in the .pdf 700 page flight manual with a Ctrl F search input box for Adobe. I did not find a reference to it. That does not mean it is not mentioned in the manual. I have not found what it means except this post---my 1st post result to a forum search in this forum topic. bradleyjs Posted November 25, 2011 Author Posted November 25, 2011 At the bottom of the HUD - the word Note is flashing not quite sure what caused it ... where do I go to read about it or why it's there? Evil.Bonsai Posted November 25, 2011 Posted November 25, 2011 Answered in previous posts: check your mfcd; usually will say 'check eo timer' or something . You can click 'ack' to indicate you've read it and 'note' will go away
