Just bought an ATi6950

Finally made it!

 

Bough an ATI6950 2gb today. Should receive it next week. Will post difference compare to my ATI4870 512mb.

what were your temps before and now ?

Did you see some improvement with you ancient GPU for DCS?

 

The card got deleivered in my town this morning, but because of the week end + new year, will only get it tuesdasy:mad:

My temps range from 70-80C when playing games. Before the flash they were 65-75C when playing. So that's a reasonable for the increased clock speeds/power. Fan speeds are still set to auto in Catalyst. One thing you have to do is adjust power to 20% to account for the extra power.

I received my card this afternoon! It merely fits my case lolll! I test it a bit stock, and then flashed it to a 6970 and in general I got 5-10 more fps, but those numbers are not official. Concerning Dcs A-10, I put everything to max ( except shadow and civ traffic) and got at least 10fps more on the engine startuP training. But in general FPS are a bit better. The thing that I was the most impress, I thing it's the 2gb of VRAM! Pressing f2 to look at an other plane or f7 for ground vehicule is instantanous! No more stuter loading something else. So far I'm really satisfied, and I'll try to post some pics and benchmark

DCS-A10 perf: Depending on the mission, I've got about 25fps average, at 1920x1080, everything at high (except ''civ traffic'' and ''shadow'' both at low) with 4x AA

I put the ASUS 6950 into my machine and got a slightly lower score in Unigine (1243), but I can find no improvement in Black Shark performance over my previous Sapphire 4850 card. Still only getting 22-25 FPS on exterior near the ground and ~50 on the cockpit.

 

Could something else be limiting my performance?

I bought the Asus EAH 6950 last week, too. I also got very limited to no improvement in FPS in DCS A10. Especially gunruns kill my FPS, but Beta4 has been the worst beta for me so far. In other games i tested (Il2, Arma2, CitiesXL2010) i got 10-20 higher FPS.

its a known bug and should be corrected in beta5 :thumbup:

 

You wont have much mroe FPS qith the new card, but you'll be able to crank the display settings with the same FPS.

Anyway, you cant really judge until the final build of the game is out :smartass:
