Pokletu
I'm hoping I'm just an idiot noob, but I don't have a manual, and I've looked everywhere. What ever mission/quickstart/campaign I start, I can watch the planes, and cycle between them. I can't fly them, though. When I press escape, I get "ONTROL", "RCVR", "QUIT", and "CANCEL". The "ONTROL" button doesn't do anything, which is my best guess as to how to get in to fly the plane. It's like the whole game is an interactive movie. What's the problem with me/the game? Thanks. :helpsmilie:

51GRIZZLY
First of all what version are you running 1.0, FC or FC2? Second you can allways find a PDF. manual in the games doc. folder.
Pokletu
For the first of all, FC2, patched. For the second of all, I've followed it. I suspect that the download was corrupted, twice. The download page shows the MD5, which I suppose is a checksum? How do you check your files against the MD5?

Pokletu
That's right, Konalov. So you should be? I thought you should be. No, I always start looking at an AWACS plane, and can cycle to different planes using F2. F1 doesn't work anywhere.
hsth
Hi, Have you checked for the missions that you start that they have selected "player" in the Skill parameter? You can check this by opening the mission in the editor.
Pokletu
That was a good idea, hsth, but that didn't work, either.

hsth
Hi, Have you checked this thread http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=55999&highlight=f1 ? There were some people with the same problem. If you have downloaded a legal copy of FC2 I would advise to re-install it and try it again.

S77th-konkussion
eh? Even on the quickstart missions? The one- click insta-fly ones? beezarre. I can't think of anything other than a corrupted set of mission files. Any other type of mission- this would have to be on you. You're not choosing a plane in the preflight, or not properly setting a plane to be flyable in the first place (mission editor) [sIGPIC]http://forums.eagle.ru/attachment.php?attachmentid=43337&d=1287169113[/sIGPIC]

The fact that you don't have PDF manual inside the directory seems... strange. you can contact directly the support center with an email and make sure to write down your serial number to verify if you have indeed a legal and most importantly a working version of the game. Pokletu
Well, thanks for all your responses, guys. I was unaware that FC2 was completely standalone from Lock-On. I've had nightmares dealing with all the driver-type stuff that Starforce introduced to my system. I've had several bad downloads, again and again, with FC2, for which I blame StarForce. So I got rid of Starforce, finally, and this time, instead of adding FC2 as a subfolder of Lock On, I gave it it's own directory, altogether. Now it works great!! (Now I'm just dissapointed that the gorgeous cockpits aren't interactive, and I'm supposed to memorize a KAJILLION key/HOTAS commands for EACH PLANE, when the switch is...right...there....) After all that, I might shelf the game, unless somebody can link me to a profile for the X52Pro that works for FC2, and not a DCS title... Anybody?) Pok.
