StrongHarm Posted February 3, 2011 Posted February 3, 2011 To counter the FPS Killer I posted earlier, here is a FPS reference mission that doesn't put a huge strain on the vid card, but rather gives you a reference to alter your settings. When the mission first starts the objects are very low. Within 1.5minutes a flight of 12 - KA-50s fly up to your aircraft sitting on the runway. It allows you to contrast low load to average/high load performance. http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=66755 It's a good thing that this is Early Access and we've all volunteered to help test and enhance this work in progress... despite the frustrations inherent in the task with even the simplest of software... otherwise people might not understand that this incredibly complex unfinished module is unfinished. /light-hearted sarcasm

maxmax Posted February 24, 2011 Posted February 24, 2011 ATI 6970 fps quite low Hi, I'm kind of wondering about fps now. Didn't find any tips on Ati and ccc. Anyway, I just upgraded to hd6970, thinking I would see some improvement. I did, but much less than I thought. Running at between 17 and 55 depending on where im flying and how low. Sometimes it drops to 12. My processor is AMD phenom quad 2,4 ghz clocked to 2,6. 4 gigs ddr2 ram, not overclocked. Does anyone have experience with the hd6970 and how to get the best performance from it?

Your processor is way too slow, i have core 2 duo 3,8ghz now and it's much better than stock. :book: Oculus CV1, Odyssey, Pimax 5k+ (i5 8400, 24gb ddr4 3000mhz, 1080Ti OC ) [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
asparagin Posted February 24, 2011 Posted February 24, 2011 (edited) The old beta benchmark mission was "weapons training". What's the point of making a new mission? Everyone has that one, no one has to download anything. It has around 150 units in it, I find it a good benchmarking mission. It's just important that the fps is noted without panning the view (default view that is), better without trackir connected, at mission start, on the runway. Within 1.5minutes a flight of 12 - KA-50s fly up to your aircraft sitting on the runway. It allows you to contrast low load to average/high load performance. For comparisons, useless, because you have alternating FPS. asparagin Posted February 24, 2011 Posted February 24, 2011 Any track will be fine. Start from ground, take off circle and land. Should be good enough to get a benchmark. Min and max runs would give good results for everyone to base upgrades off of. Not precise. kingneptune117 Posted February 24, 2011 Posted February 24, 2011 my specs are in my sig. I have everything on high except for "scenes", which I keep on medium. This release version runs twice as good as beta 4, in terms of fps. I get 40+ fps almost constant, in heavy combat and explosions with the tgp on, maybe 30. Runs amazing. I just wish they would fix JTAC.
