Ramstein Posted February 3, 2011 Posted February 3, 2011 low on fuel warning: is there a warning light or alarm? I have been making some dumb mistakes  running out of fuel, and I am wondering are there any warning lights or alrams in the cockpit that can be set for fuel amount? I already know about the alarms and settings for altitude, or warnings for mechanical failures, etc.. thanx.. AlphaOneSix Posted February 3, 2011 Posted February 3, 2011 There is an EKRAN message, as well as a yellow light on the fuel gauge itself. When the EKRAN message appears, the audio "Watch EKRAN" will play.
power5 Posted February 3, 2011 Posted February 3, 2011 Pretty sure there is a warning light on the panels that indicate low fuel. I know there are warnings for all the pumps. Hold the lamp test button and look around at the warnings to find if there is one. Also helps you memorize where warnings will show up so in the heat of attack you dont have to guess. zdXu Posted February 3, 2011 Posted February 3, 2011 (edited) Start with empty forward and backward tank but with full external inner fuel tanks: Betty says loud and clear: "Minimum Fuel" EKRAN shows: "Forward tank Minimum" Betty says: "Minimum Fuel" EKRAN shows: "Aft tank Minimum" And you will hear the same during flight when one of both tanks drops < 110 kg fuel. Max fuel of one tank = 760 kg. Fuelconsumption is between 12 Kg/min up to 19 kg/min (hover with full payload), depends on engine speed. So at the first "minimum Speed"-warning you have minimum 220 kg fuel left. Listen or watch the track for the first 4 or 5 minutes: http://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=1095389&postcount=4 Edited February 3, 2011 by zdXu
DTWD Posted February 7, 2011 Posted February 7, 2011 I can't remember the button, but also remember you have to crossfeed the fuel to balance the tanks. I have run out of fuel a few times (usually after I haven't played it for a while) due to hearing the warning and thinking "oh the other tank is fine". It also might be worth putting my English Cockpit Mod on so you can understand betty. Regards [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
JujuMan Posted February 17, 2011 Posted February 17, 2011 I'm not getting the advisory yellow lights on my gauge either. Should I have them on in this scenario? EKRAN is fine, warnings on there, but no lights? JJM _________________________________________
AlphaOneSix Posted February 18, 2011 Posted February 18, 2011 I just read the manual and I do not think the lights come on except during the testing of the gauge. Upon reaching the 110 kg minimum emergency threshold in either tank, the master warning light starts flashing, and the EKRAN systems displays the text, "ПЕРЕДНИЙ БАК 110 КГ" (for forward tank – 110 kg) or "ЗАДНИЙ БАК 110 КГ" (for rear tank – 110 kg). With “КОНТРОЛЬ ТОПЛИВОМЕРА” (Self test fuel quantity indicator) button depressed, the fuel indicator needles will display the determined values from current remaining fuel and both tank lights illuminate.
JujuMan Posted February 18, 2011 Posted February 18, 2011 (edited) Thanks for that. So its just the EKRAN for the low fuel warnings. The gauge lights are just a visual confirmation that the needles are working/reporting correctly? Edited February 18, 2011 by JujuMan _________________________________________
