andysim Posted February 3, 2011 Posted February 3, 2011 Anyone else fly this bird? I have not used FSX so much since I stumbled across A2A. Now I cant get enough of it, I really am starting to like tail draggers and all the challenges they bring and considering getting the Spitfire from them too. Just wondering if anyone else here flies them :pilotfly: Andy
MTFDarkEagle Posted February 3, 2011 Posted February 3, 2011 Yes! It's excellent!! I fly it nearly every week with about 12 guys, a trip around the world. I have all accusim birds from A2A, and ALL are great, especially the new spitfire! It's veryveryvery good! Squid_DK Posted February 9, 2011 Posted February 9, 2011 Sorry for the late reply, I fly the A2A B-17 eith accusim aswell and compared to the basik WOP B-17 it is a milestone and very fun and challenging to fly properly. andysim Posted February 9, 2011 Author Posted February 9, 2011 :megalol:Got thier spitfire too now =). Its even more of a challenge to fly properly than any aircraft (A-10c exluded) Be warned if you are after a fast Touring aircraft for VFR then the Spit is not for you, I spend more time keeping the engine under control than I do looking at the scenery. Its a real handfull and ive been told thats realistic to the original I I gotta learn to fly it properly :pilotfly:
effte Posted February 9, 2011 Posted February 9, 2011 Bought BoB and now I'm gonna have to buy the Accusim aircraft as well. I think I'll hold off on the 17 though. Not enough levers. Need two more Saitek Quadrants first... :D ----- Introduction to UTM/MGRS - Trying to get your head around what trim is, how it works and how to use it? - DCS helos vs the real world.
will Posted February 14, 2011 Posted February 14, 2011 so do i need fsx to fly the a2a b17?or is it a stand alone game?
Avilator Posted February 14, 2011 Posted February 14, 2011 so do i need fsx to fly the a2a b17?or is it a stand alone game? It is an add-on to FSX. I don't believe the accleration pack is required, but I may be wrong. Anyone else? I only respond to that little mechanical voice that says "Terrain! Terrain! Pull Up! Pull Up!" andysim Posted February 15, 2011 Author Posted February 15, 2011 nope just normal FSX with the 2 Service packs. is all you need. I only get acceleration for the carrier ops with the VRS Bug hehe.
will Posted February 15, 2011 Posted February 15, 2011 (edited) OK cool.Ive bean watching the A2A B17 vids on you tube and I'm totally impressed.Has anyone hear flown the B377?that looks like a challenge. Edited February 15, 2011 by will
MTFDarkEagle Posted February 15, 2011 Posted February 15, 2011 I have that plane as well. It's very challenging at first, but once you get to know her, she's a breez to fly :) Lukas - "TIN TIN" - 9th Shrek Air Strike Squadron TIN TIN's Cockpit thread
will Posted February 16, 2011 Posted February 16, 2011 Does the navigators station come with charts or how does that work on the b377?Its a toss up between the B17 and 377.
MTFDarkEagle Posted February 16, 2011 Posted February 16, 2011 No, it doesn't come with "charts" per se, it however does include a moving map, in both the B-17 and the B377. Lukas - "TIN TIN" - 9th Shrek Air Strike Squadron TIN TIN's Cockpit thread
andysim Posted February 16, 2011 Author Posted February 16, 2011 If I had to choose I would pick the B-17. It just has so many more features being one of thier later developments. The hanger screen with engine cutaways so you can see whats damaged for instance. The B377 is on my list but I have so much stuff on my "Wanted" list its gonna be awhile hehe. Im really waiting for the P-51 though :pilotfly:
will Posted February 16, 2011 Posted February 16, 2011 ya i think im going to get the B17 as well. It looks and sounds sooooo good.
