At long last it came .. ;)

Have tested it a little bit and so far i havent found any bugs other than the sizing might be slightly off.

ToDo :

Bugg Icemaker to make an on-off switch for his easy configurator so that we dont have to edit the files to turn off fks the mfd in the pit ;) (going to have to do this yourself for now)

Fix textures to see if i can get rid of the things in the way inside the cockpit. (temporary sollution)

Build a10 pit, add textures and add visibility track for turning the pit on and off in a alt-f1 manner. (this is going to take a while)

Hope you'll enjoy

And remember your gratitude is my reward

Awesome, now that I'm on vacation and cannot test!

So are the exports working now?

Thanks again, this pit works perfect with Helios!

From what i can see everything is in working order, exports + easy configurator

Of course i'm not the most hardcore a10 simmer so i might not see something but i believe its working as it should with Helios as i've added all the arguments from the export file to the pit, tedious job so my hats off to Gadroc for doing it for Helios, think it was 3-400 or more 3 digit numbers to add in.

Update, with my recent discovery of using lod to cancel out the geometry in the skins file i have made a new one for a10.

Its essentially the original pit with the geometry gone. a whole lot of work for nothing but it dont hurt to have possibility to move things around for future projects.

Great job!

When i see this post, i see some moders who are working hard for a hud, an mfd... etc

So...

Few years ago, ED talk about some moder tools...

PS: i know they don't promise anything!

So where are we now?

Is ED going to forgot the community about modding?

What is the real position of ED with community modding?

All i want is just a clear answer...

Its just the same as before Flim, just that now everything is in perfect position as i didnt have to modify anything, i just removed all of the pit by using a lod trick instead of building a new cockpit.

I probably won't ever have a use for something like this myself, but I know people really appreciate what you are doing.

That being said, keep up the good work, and it sucks that ED won't just help make your life that much easier by releasing proper mod tools.

If you aim for the sky, you will never hit the ground.

All i want is just a clear answer...

First off I'm not speaking on behalf of ED here, this is my thought as a modder and on behalf of discussions I've had with other modding teams.

ED and TFC have been very helpful to the modding community I think.

FC2 was very much hard coded and a lot of modders complained about this, so they release A10 which is very much more open to modding, as Trigen is proving.

Also comments from other modding teams who have made contact with ED developers have always had nothing but good responses helping them out.

There are a lot of talented people in this community that give up a lot of time to develop for this community leaving the ED team to work on the products themselves, VEAO, VNAO, ADA, and many others.

Modding tools are almost products themselves. I am a software developer by trade and when I develop software, it takes almost the same amount of time to develop the tools to be able to mod that software.

I have made the decision in the past to not release tools, but to open up the code more so others can mod it. This is what TFC/ED have done with DCS.

So let's get this topic back on track please and if you're having problems getting things to work, post a specific request in the mods forums as I'm sure one of the modding teams has an answer and let's leave ED to work on their core products.

hey, I'm seeing the same issues with the new one... no flap indication/gear lights, lower annuc panel, and oxygen gauge.

I installed both files... was this correct?

Also the hud is turned off

Thanks, Flim

You need to put the original pit file back in and rename it A10C-CPT-2 Flim, My fault for not mentioning that, sorry.

So it would be

Rename original A10C-CPT.lom to A10C-CPT-2.lom

Extract the rar.

Sorry for the delay, i've hardly been home lately i just havent had the time.

Been looking at it a little and it goes right on the EDM model instead of the .lom so the skins workaround isnt working.

Currently unable to get the EDM tools working (even in xp 32) so if anyone has it working i'd appreciate some help on a export.

The simplest solutions usually eludes you

\DCS A-10C\Scripts\Aircrafts\A-10C\Cockpit\Config.lua

Change: is_EDM = true to false

Fully working.
