RIZLAHQ Posted February 7, 2011 Posted February 7, 2011 Hey all been having a look around for a company too print the flight manual in the UK. I've just done a on-line quote, Would not believe how much printing in colour costs.
Steel Jaw Posted February 7, 2011 Posted February 7, 2011 Yeah that's a rip off...prolly costs them half that much to print it, prolly 1/4... "You see, IronHand is my thing" My specs: W10 Pro, I5/11600K o/c to 4800 @1.32v, 64 GB 3200 XML RAM, Red Dragon 7800XT/16GB, monitor: GIGABYTE M32QC 32" (31.5" Viewable) QHD 2560 x 1440 (2K) 165Hz.
StrongHarm Posted February 7, 2011 Posted February 7, 2011 Print the manual yourself, kneeboard size, on a 162 pages like this. It's a good thing that this is Early Access and we've all volunteered to help test and enhance this work in progress... despite the frustrations inherent in the task with even the simplest of software... otherwise people might not understand that this incredibly complex unfinished module is unfinished. /light-hearted sarcasm
Phrenesis Posted February 7, 2011 Posted February 7, 2011 I'm sure you can find another company that'll do it for a lot less. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
RIZLAHQ Posted February 7, 2011 Author Posted February 7, 2011 Way too much too pay for 668 pages I'll keep looking, Might Have too put the PDF on a thump drive and print it on black and white at work, But don't think I'll get away with printing that many pages in one hit.
Garfieldo Posted February 7, 2011 Posted February 7, 2011 (edited) A friend of mine just paid 0,35 €/page to print and bind his thesis at a local store here in Germany, so printing the 668 pages of DCS would cost like 240 €. While this is still too much money in my opinion, what the farp is wrong with the company mentioned above? Hope you find a more affordable alternative. EDIT just for fun: 727 L (british pound, I presume?) = 862 € Edited February 8, 2011 by Garfieldo
S77th-konkussion Posted February 7, 2011 Posted February 7, 2011 727 L (british pound, I presume?) is $1171 usd...... (source: free itouch converter app- so don't bitch at me if it's wrong) [sIGPIC]http://forums.eagle.ru/attachment.php?attachmentid=43337&d=1287169113[/sIGPIC]

hassata Posted February 7, 2011 Posted February 7, 2011 (edited) . . . OR by a Warthog, TM MFDs, a 23" Touchscreen, and HELIOS lol. AND, you'll have enough left over to take the female appendage out for some fancy French cuisine to temper the tantrum when the mail man shows up. EDIT: Ill really hope that there will be a printed manual from ED, no matter the price i would buy it. It'll probably end up here at a reasonable price: http://www.kengray.co.uk/lockonbuy.htm. Boberro Posted February 8, 2011 Posted February 8, 2011 This is why you have friends or company's printer for :D Mine friend has printed BS + GUI manual + 16 A4 pages of photomap for me in full color for only about $25 :) Reminder: Fighter pilots make movies. Bomber pilots make... HISTORY! :D | Also to be remembered: FRENCH TANKS HAVE ONE GEAR FORWARD AND FIVE BACKWARD :D ಠ_ಠ ツ
Smoky Posted February 9, 2011 Posted February 9, 2011 For what it costs to get a pro-printer to print up the manual, just get a tablet like an iPad and load up the PDF. My ipad is my kneepad! Manual, maps, all in one place. Still looking forward to the formal offering though for a printed manual!
