Overclocking past 3.8ghz

Recommended Posts

Hi!

would need some help to overclock my CPU pass 3.8ghz. For now its stable and not hot (37idle-55/60 full load(celcius))

I tried to push the voltage for 3.9 but it didnt seem to make it....

Here are my settings

Do you think that getting 9 women pregnant will get you a baby in 1 month?

If the OS is freezing it's a RAM problem,

but what kind of problem ?

not enough voltage?

to tight timmings?

too high/low frequency?

If the OS is freezing it's a RAM problem, and in that case you need to upgrade your RAM. BSOD of any kind are usually voltage releated.

To check if its RAM you need to run a memory test utility like memtest86+

Even if you have memory problems, one of the solutions is to loosen the memory timings or change the DRAM frequency (different MObo BIOSs have different methods of doing this e.g. Clock Ratio). The problem here is that the increase in CPU speed (clock rate) along with the slower memory timings or freq can yield little or no performance gains.

BTW 3.8-4.0Ghz is a typical overclock for your chip so, unless you are an overclocking enthusiast, I wouldn't worry about eeking out that last drop of performance.

the problem is that with my FSB pass 450, my ram mhz is too low or too high (under 900 or above 1150.....)

Run it with the lower Ram mhz and see what speed you get your CPU up to by ramping up that FSB slowly, this will also increase your RAM mhz on the way.
