JujuMan Posted February 9, 2011 Posted February 9, 2011 When using the NVG, i am having a hard time getting used to the 'raster lines' effect. For some strange reason I am experiencing symptons akin to 'motion sickness'. Not good. Is there a way to remove these raster line effects? I have tried the black & white mod, but, prefer the traditional green. If anyone knows how, please let me know. Many thanks JJM :helpsmilie: _________________________________________
Conure Posted February 9, 2011 Posted February 9, 2011 Try forcing V-sync on through your Nvidia/Ati control panel, I think I read somewhere that that can have an effect.. Intel i7 6700k, Asus GTX1070, 16gb DDR4 @ 3200mhz, CH Fighterstick, CH Pro Throttle, CH Pro Rudder Pedals, Samsung Evo 850 SSD @ 500GB * 2, TrackIR 5 and 27" monitor running at 2560 * 1440, Windows 10.
JujuMan Posted February 17, 2011 Author Posted February 17, 2011 Fixed it. Messed around in the .lua's and after a few attempts got rid of the god-forsaken rasta lines. :D:D NVG is crystal clear. Yay! JJM _________________________________________

Krebs20 Posted February 17, 2011 Posted February 17, 2011 Do you mind sharing the .lua file or what part you changed? [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
JujuMan Posted February 17, 2011 Author Posted February 17, 2011 Do you mind sharing the .lua file or what part you changed? Not at all. I'm away on business for the next couple of days. Planning to put together a Modman addon for it at the weekend. Also need to test it out a bit more to make sure it hasn't broken anything else. JJM _________________________________________
JujuMan Posted February 17, 2011 Author Posted February 17, 2011 (edited) Done, before I fly out.:smartass: http://www.lockonfiles.com/index.php/files/file/1760-crystal-clear-nvg/ JJM *edit* Just sitting in the Departure Lounge and it has dawned on me, that in the past 20 years of my flight simming, this is the first 'Mod' I have uploaded! So this is my small contribution to the Hobby that I hold most dear to me, and,a BIG THANK YOU to the very talented Programmers, Producers, Testers and the rest of the people that make all 'this' happen. semper fi Edited February 17, 2011 by JujuMan 2 _________________________________________

JujuMan Posted February 17, 2011 Author Posted February 17, 2011 Glad you liked it. It does make it easier at night. _________________________________________
Xxx Posted February 22, 2011 Posted February 22, 2011 Hi JujuMan, Superb fix for the NVG!!:clap_2: Now can anyone find a way to fit IR and Low Light Level optics in the Shkval?:helpsmilie: Best Regards. Xxx Posted February 22, 2011 Posted February 22, 2011 (edited) Thanks again JujuMan....its very good, an important alteration! Especially on large or multi monitor systems! NV now looks very real! Perhaps you could do an avionics upgrade to KA-50N, for us. I am sure DCS would be willing to employ you! Oh and zdXu....No Sir, NO Fantasy!.....please read the below link. I fly simulations that are based on accuracy. The latest KA-50N does seem to have exactly what I was referring to. Optic and avionics upgrades are commonplace in the industry:- http://www.fas.org/man/dod-101/sys/ac/row/ka-50.htm Specifically:- The HOKUM uses a low-light level TV or thermal sighting, a laser range-finder (10 km), FLIR, air data sensor, and digital data-link which interface with a fire control com-puter, an autopilot, a helmet sighting system and HUD for target location, acquisition, designation, and firing. Night/Weather Capabilities: This aircrafts avionics package ensuring a full day/night, all weather capability. If it is to be employed at night in an attack role, it must be fitted with a night targeting pod. This pod includes a FLIR, a millimeter wave radar, and an electro-optical sight takes up one of the underwing pylons. The Ka-50N, and Ka-52 are capable of performing attack missions in day/night, and all-weather conditions. res ipsa loquitur Regards. Xxx Posted February 23, 2011 Posted February 23, 2011 Going off topic a little, its an interesting subject, night flying, from the challenge aspect of the sim. I can appreciate the Ka-50A, as depicted in this sim, as being an extremely demanding aircraft to fly well, especially at night. It does require the pilot to utilise all the avionics and automated systems to the fullest extent, in order to accomplish any mission. The absence of the (N) variants enhanced night capabilities, perhaps actually makes the (A) even more of a challenge!:smilewink: The NVG ( wonderful now with the "fix" ) and with some careful tuning of the cockpit lights and dimmer controls on the HUD, Shkval and ABRIS, its possible to fly and fight without FLIR or mm radar. Certainly more of a skill challenge! When the mission is a success, there is even more of that feeling of satisfaction at having done it without the expensive avionics in, say the AH-64. Успехов! (Uspekhov!) Now I am learning Russian!:clap_2: [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]i7 Haswell @ 4.6Ghz, Z97p, GTX1080, 32GB DDR3, x3SSD, Win7/64, professional. 32" BenQ, TIR 5, Saitek x55 HOTAS. dsobbe Posted February 27, 2011 Posted February 27, 2011 (edited) What a difference! Thanks for fixing NVG, JujuMan. I manually installed NV_P.DAT under patch 1.0.1 and it works perfectly. Can anyone tell me the purpose of the ADDON.LMA3 file? Thanks Edited February 27, 2011 by dsobbe
