Hi, I was thinking about buying it for me a my friend, but I'm not sure. Considering the fact how BS was abandoned, I'm not sure whether I should wait maybe another year before doing that. Any thoughts ?

What do you mean by abandoned? DCS BS is already completed module... what more do you want with it? And FYI when DCS A-10C is released ED will also release a patch for DCS BS which will wring all new features and graphics improvements into DCS BS

Having said this, if you like the A-10 you most definitely SHOULD get it... what more there needs to be said?

No longer active in DCS...

Thanks for reply. Is there any official thread that would confirm this? I'd gladly pay for A-10, because I like it, but I like BS more, and any upgrade to it, especially mission generator, etc. would be most welcome.

Um, DCS:BS is already a completed game. Dunno where you got the idea that it was abandoned. Why do you need an official thread to confirm this?

Click on the DCS logo up top, click on the picture of the KA-50 in the sidebar and read the info.

Or get on Direct2drive, Steam, or other online stores and search for DCS:BS.

Or walk down to your local game shop to see if they stock the disc version.

From the FAQ..... http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=56699

Q: Will DCS: A-10C Warthog be online-compatible with DCS: Black Shark and Flaming Cliffs 2?

A: We hope to be able to release a compatibility patch for DCS: Black Shark after release. This would give Black Shark all the features of A-10C, except the flyable A-10C. Compatibility with FC2 is unlikely.

Well, "we hope to be able to" means virtually nothing, as if it wasn't there for me.

As to the BS, yes I think it was abandoned, as it needs a solid patch to fix outstanding issues. Crashes when playing tracks, training missions unavailable (yes there's a quick fix but it's not a proper fix from ED), memory leaks, gfx corruptions, and more. There's no indication that ED is working on a patch for BS, so as long as it's not patched, it's abandoned to me.

I just bought A-10 anyway though. Got disappointed with menu still not being part of the game. Everything else looks good for now though.

only real show stopping bug In BS is the AI wingman wondering off randomly and never being seen again (no its not just me). Makes missions quite difficult at times. But Its still is a will always be a fantastic sim on its own. Maybe someday there will be a fix but I can imagine they are working 100% on the A-10c and I dont blame them. Its going to be awsome when its finaly released.

The Ka-50 has paid for itself 1000 times over in entertainment and learning. So too will the A-10
