Here we go. For Fun lets have a little shoot 'em up. First, I would say that there are a number of ways to cheat and I want to keep it simple and your honesty in reporting and competing will be up to you. This simple mission will be in effect thru March 10th, central standard time, USA. The winner will receive the book A-10's Over Kosovo free of charge. I will apologize right here and say that it will only be available to those living in the United States and Canada. Sorry about that, but shipping to many countries is expensive. But, I would like you to get involved anyhow and show your results. Remember this is to be first of all FRIENDLY and SIMPLE.

You will need to provide a screenshot of as many of your targets that are destroyed as in the example shown. I would have liked a screenshot of the mission results but have found that many screenshot programs such as Fraps and Snapper- along with the defalult program does not show this. So this is where your honesty comes into the picture, so to speak. So it comes down to this:

There are 18 targets. The flight is not very long at all, in most cases it will last less than 30 minutes. Your best time along with the number of targets destroyed will determine the winner. So, once again, I need a screenshot to show some of your targets destroyed to prove you flew the mission and your time in minutes and seconds. For example, your submission might be 15 targets in 27 minutes and 43 seconds. I am not even an average pilot but having flown this time, I can tell you that to destroy all 18 targets in less than 30 minutes is not that difficult. So, your goal is 18 targets in as little time as possible. If there happens to be a tie, I will determine the winner by a tie breaking event of my choosing.

New edit: It should be noted that you only need fly to your target area and when all targets are destroyed, land at Kobuleti. It is not necessary to complete all the waypoints

You can only submit one screenshot- that is one flight. You might want to fly this a number of times and then post your screen shot in this thread. If you prefer to post a track file with your submission, that would be great.

Keep in mind, that this flight should be flown with labels on. You might take out one target to come back around and find new targets in the area. You will only use the ordinance within the mission. Please enjoy this and remember, keep it simple, keep it honest. KEEP IT FUN!

Good luck.

Forgot to mention that this is Beta 4. No One enterested in some fun flying and a chance at a free book? Better than reading the posts about Beta 6. ;)

Maybe the mass of pilots here dot live in the US or canada. i would suggest a trk file for proof of honesty though.

THats a good idea, need all the suggestions I can think of. Will change that. Thanks. Wish I had more money to consider shipping it anywhere but it just can't work that way.

I think it´s awesome enough that you do it for US and Can. Maybe more will follow your example around the world. (hopefully)

Good luck to all participants!

This was about to go to the second page and wanted to give any newcomers a chance at this mission and free book. Ends in less than 2 weeks. When this one ends, I will have another competition in the works for another very nice prize.See the very first original post for details. dane48 or dne48, the same person

Hey dane48,

I just flew your mission and enjoyed it. I did this in 29 minutes and made a few mistakes along the way and took some bullets but made it back to base. After the first group of 4 it took nearly 5 minutes before the next ones showed up. I forgot to count the number of targets I got but is there any indication of all targets destroyed? I did save the track but I will probably do it again after my one gun run with the rocket cue in the hud, oops.

Thanks.

Will surely accept a track, or a screenshot of some of the targets on fire (check the screenshot I posted as an example)...And at the end of your mission it should tell you how many targets you have destroyed and your time. That is what we are looking for. Glad you enjoyed know with the new cannon makes it especially fun

Screenshot with Snapper

I was able to take a screen of what can also be used as your entry. This was taken with a freeware program called "Snapper" (at least it was free a year or two ago) and will take a screenshot of this, where as with the default screenshot in the sim; I was not able to do so. Haven't tried it for a while though. Anyhow, the circled information is the pertinent info for this little competition. This is just a sample screenshot from the mission but with a different ordinance that I was trying

Just a reminder for those that have missed this. Only 5 days left. When I can build another mission I will be something similar in which the book "Fairchild A-10 Thunderbolt II Pilot Flight Operating Instructions (A-10A-1) will be the prize.

Threshor- you'll have the book coming your way. Send me a PM with your mailing address and I will get it in the mail to you on Monday. Wish more would have been involved. I'll be trying this once again as I would rather share a book with someone than throw it away. Thanks.
