Touch IR+ iPhonepit

Inspired by ghost_unit13's iPadpit I started working tonight on an iphone version (not iphone4, sorry). So far i've got a working UFC, though it is not quite on the same quality level as the ipadpit (yet) so don't expect too much. However, it works :) I'm using it next to my TM MFD set so the MFD's aren't high on my priority list, but I could add them by request.

 

You need:

-Any iPhone or iPod touch (iphone4 and ipad not supported)

-touch ir+ app

-autohotkeys in-app purchase

-touch ir desktop application

 

instructions:

save attached files somewhere on your PC

The ufc keys aren't configured by default in dcs so we'll have to add them. I've included 2 ways in the keyboard_config.rar file. You can import keyboard.lua in the control options menu in DCS, or you can manually add the UFC keys in the game with the included picture as a guide (if for instance you have added custom keyboard commands and don't want to override them by importing my .lua file).

 

Next we'll configure Touch ir+:

-open touch IR server on your PC

-click tools>import configuration...

-navigate to TouchIRServer_export_full_DCS_iphone3.zip and select it

-Now on your iphone add your server PC if you haven't done that yet, or..

-click refresh.

 

One more thing: By default windows firewall blocks port 8822. Here's how to unblock it: http://maximumpcguides.com/windows-7/open-a-port-in-windows-7s-firewall/

You need to add an inbound rule for TCP port 8822.

 

-start activity DCS>DCS: A-10C on your iphone.

Thanks man, i managed to make it work from second try...Now i was wondering could it be possible to add radios panel, but in a way that we can sweep cdu page left or right and with sweeping move to access radio panel?

Could you make this?

All is possible. I've got the Radio comms on the Ipad version..

But you can do it yourself.. It's not that hard. Make some screenshots and fit them for you Iphone. Configer the keys/buttons and here you go.. all you need is some time ;)

Yeah I might be doing the radio panels next, but as there's no feedback from the sim i don't think working the radios with touch ir will be very intuitive. You'll be looking back and forth at your iphone and in-sim radios.

I had to change my network tcp/ip settings for preferred DNS and aletrnate DNS so i can open touch Ir www page.. Now i can open touch ir ww page..

 

But the biggest problem i have is that my iphone wont connect to my pc Touch ir server..I am using router, i forwarderd the ports per instructions, it worked yesterday but then it stopped working...

Why are you forwarding? Normaly you pc (touch IR server) and Ipad should be both inside the segment of the router. so you don't need a forwarder through your router.

What can be a problem is the firewall on your pc. What OS are you using? Try to disable your firewall on your PC temporary to check if that's the problem. If it is you need to add an inbound rule for TCP port 8822 on the firewall of your PC.

Yes it can. I asked Dave. He told me you can use more than one Ipad or Iphone or mix.

I was all gung-ho to go ahead and realized that the wifi was burned out on my iPhone. Will be replacing it later this year so will have to wait until then to try.

Thats because the OP has done artwork which is sized specifically for his iPhone.

 

TouchIR works on my iPad just fine, and also does work on a iPhone 4.

I've tweaked the layout and the button styles slightly and the font's close (although not exact).

 

It'll need some fiddling to get everything to line back up but it should work.

 

I've saved the bottom left corner for activity buttons to navigate to other screens.

 

What do you think?

To purchase TouchIR+ do you have to have iTunes or some kind of Apply store installed on your computer? I am not familar with any of this type of technology. Gotta catch up.

iTunes has the store built into it and yes believe you'll need to d/l and install that. And to purchase apps you'll have to create an apple/itunes account to make purchases.
