SuperKungFu Posted June 22, 2005 Posted June 22, 2005 Looks like it gave a 10+ fps increase compared to the 6800 ultra. Alienware already has it offered on their comps, looks like its $49 more than the ultra. Sounds interesting. Check out the performance preview here http://www.firingsquad.com/hardware/nvidia_geforce_7800_gtx/page16.asp [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
4c Hajduk Veljko Posted June 22, 2005 Posted June 22, 2005 Ipressive!!! Specialy at 1600X1200! However, it is not about the MAX fps, but about the MIN fps! And unfortunately, Flaming Cliffs is limited by CPU, not as much by the video card. I am talking about video cards of 6800GT and higher. In my view, Eagle Dynamics MUST redo their code for dual core processors. Otherwise, Flaming Cliffs will be forgotten in very near future. BOPrey Posted June 22, 2005 Posted June 22, 2005 Don't know about architecture of ED's code, but some codes, like the one our company sells, are multi-core ready ever since it was released back in 98. Depending on the way the app is writen, it might be very easy to modify it to support multi-core.
Dutch60 Posted June 23, 2005 Posted June 23, 2005 WAIT I think I will wait for the GeForce 8800 Ultra and the AMD 6000 X2 that will be introduced in late 2006 i9 13900KS (H150i), RTX 4090, 64 GB RAM @ 6000 MHz CL30, TM Warthog HOTAS + MFD's, MFG Crosswind, LG 48GQ900, Valve Index VR, TrackIR 5, Win11 Pro x64
Pilotasso Posted June 24, 2005 Posted June 24, 2005 If you look at its 1000-1200$ price tag then it stops being as tempting as that! .
