After burning out on flight sims I have recontracted the sim bug. I discovered BS, FC2, and A-10. The set-up has been entertaining but I am generally updated to the current version and I am working on control/cockpit setup. I found all the ModMan stuff and so have training reinstalled for BS 1.0.2.

I have a TrackIR4. I loaded the 5.1 beta 3 software since I am running W7 Ultimate 64bit. I works...most of the time. Every few minutes it just wacks out and I find myself looking at the floor or ceiling. I am a rusty pilot to say the least, so 10 seconds off not getting any visual feedback always results in a crash. Any ideas what is going on? I am just using the default TIR4 config for BS. I don't have an A-10 HOTAS yet so just working on BS for now.

I have the same issues with any "warm" light source in the room even when its not within the camera view angle.

Try it in the darkness or/and adjust light filter threshold.

Yup, light or IR sources would have been my guess too. You should check how your TrackIR sees your virtual head; if it picks up anything but your Hat/Clip, then that's most probably the source of the problem.

Other than that, I'm not aware of such issues with TrackIR and Black Shark.
