SimFreak Posted February 27, 2011 Posted February 27, 2011 In beta it used to work. Now it doesn't... To create SPI = TMS For Long. China Hat For long = slew to SPI China Hat Aft long = slew to steer point. In beta I could easily slew from one to another without problems (Quick Mission Easy Georgia Summer) Now when I create SPI and move target pod to somewhere else, pressing China Hat For Long does nothing. If I press China Hat For short - it zooms. So mapping works. But it doesn't slew to SPI. Anyone else having same problem?
tdar Posted February 27, 2011 Posted February 27, 2011 hmm..works for me, do it all the time! anybody else have any idea?

Nate--IRL-- Posted February 27, 2011 Posted February 27, 2011 If you move the TGP, after setting SPI with it, you are moving the SPI too. Nate Ka-50 AutoPilot/stabilisation system description and operation by IvanK- Essential Reading
SimFreak Posted February 27, 2011 Author Posted February 27, 2011 If you move the TGP, after setting SPI with it, you are moving the SPI too. Nate What's the point of designating it then? Simple example. Start quick mission, and active pause it. Select A/G and SOI TGP Press China Hat Aft Long. = TGP slews to steer point. Now move TGP to something next to steer point and mark it (TMS For Long). You should be able to cycle between steer point and your mark by China Hat For / Aft long. Can you do this?
Crosser Posted February 27, 2011 Posted February 27, 2011 If you have your TGP as your SPI, whener it is moved everything that is slaved to SPI is then moved also. IE Mavs, GBU's ect. This is for target tracking. You're probably going to want to use Mark Points, but remember that markpoints don't track with moving vehicles.. As far as I know right now, SPI works like it should and there are no issues with it. I didn't have issues with it in any of the other betas minus the GBU-12's and creating mark points in Beta 4
159th_Viper Posted February 27, 2011 Posted February 27, 2011 You should be able to cycle between steer point and your mark by China Hat For / Aft long. No. The only way you slave the TGP to markpoint is if you set the Steerpoint dial to mark. The moment you do so, the default steerpoint is your markpoint (TGP will slave thereto) and not the previous steerpoint next to your markpoint. Novice or Veteran looking for an alternative MP career? SimFreak Posted February 27, 2011 Author Posted February 27, 2011 That's too bad. In beta I was able to do that.
Nate--IRL-- Posted February 27, 2011 Posted February 27, 2011 Set the HUD as SOI after Setting the SPI with the TGP, and you may be able to do that. Nate Ka-50 AutoPilot/stabilisation system description and operation by IvanK- Essential Reading

If you are not talking about Mark points, but by "mark" you mean that you created a new SPI, then yes, you can do it. Let's say you have a target near Waypoint 01, not exactly on it. You select the TGP, find the target, locks it and create a new SPI on the target with TMS Up Long. With China Hat Forward Long you will slave all to the SPI (all sensors to the "wedding cake"). With China Hat Aft Long you will slave ONLY the TGP to the Waypoint. So, in this case you could have a MAV looking on your SPI (target) and the TGP looking at Waypoint 01. If you change waypoints, let's say to Waypoint 02 and hit China Hat Aft Long the TGP will slave to the new waypoint. However, the MAV, the TAD and the HUD will still be slaved to the target near Waypoint 01 (the SPI). I know it is a bit confuse, but hope it helps. :juggle: This is an amazing sim!
