Many times my wingman will say "contact" and i presume this means he has eyes on the target. Is there a way for him to relay this information to me? my TADS? Thanks yall.

he will say a direction also (most of the time?) like '11 o'clock'

right, but that doesnt help me im usually allover the place

it seem if i tell him to attack then his SPI starts to appear on my TADS? can i get him to do that without telling him to attack?

No. AI wingman cannot datalink "contacts" to you unfortunately. The only target symbology I've ever seen appear on the TAD is the red diamond facilitated through JTAC.

you can see your wingman fly on the TAD, even his heading,

when you tell him to attack, the TAD shows where he is going to arttack

that's about all there is to indicate, seems to me

an better improvement would be

he doesnt say 'nagative' all the time :D

YES! I am able to use him to help point targets but only when I tell him to attack. So, he says contact - I tell him to attack - I see the enemy pop up on my TADS as his SPI - I tell him not to attack but hold a pattern - then I prosecute the enemy just as I would like with Jstars. I cant be the only one doing this.

I think you're supposed to do your own mission first and only.

And you're groupleader and supposed to lead the way

so your wingman either sees the enemy of the mission

or he sees targets that are of no concern.

Then again, in real life 'RTB'

your wingman should be able to send you targets of opportunity he sees

but I havent seen this implemented

you need to play Multiplayer for that

and join a team, I suppose

and that's why multiplayer is way popular with a lot of - experienced - pilots

Yes, I think this probably needs closer examination. Either we should see on TADS who our wingman is prosecuting or we shouldnt. And if we should see, how can we get it before tasking the wingman to attack?

Good point. A sort of recon/scan command would be nice.

this would indeed be the RECON command from BS ..

Good point. A sort of recon/scan command would be nice.

but isn't necessarily RL in A10

wingman will call anything of interest he sees by eye ball also

he wouldn't necessarily have targeted anything

when he sees a plume of a missile launch

that's what he will call and say '3 o'clock' or something

'.. AA at 12 o'clock' may also be eye sight only

.. and my guess is, is what DCS has implemented

Personally I wouldn't mind a rough range estimation added to his direction call.

Remember gent's, the JTAC was implemented in this Sim with the express purpose of helping you find and prosecute your targets. Most all missions have them, so use them.

IMHO, the wingman's job is to cover my ass, and take direction from me, the flight lead. I want him to call out sam launches, and bogey's, anything more and you might as well let him take the lead.

I don't necessarily feel the need to fly lead. Anyways, I am just interested if real life A-10C can pass SPI location to other aircraft. The fact that I can order my wingman to nav to my SPI gives another clue. I also can call in F-16 SEAD and they light up my TADS with a bunch of bad guys.

They set 'em up - I knock 'em down!

you need the "HI" from your live squad

Yes they can via the SADL network. You can send your SPI in multiplayer to other pilots that are in your same SADL network.

Do you mean, maybe in the next patch?? :music_whistling:

I agree that this function should be developed for MP, and these were the expectations, but it was not work ... and still waiting now for a patch.

This functionality worked in the beta's in MP. If as you say the Final Release version messed it up, then I am sure it will be patched along with the other bug's.

Yes, of course, in any case that's what we hope all, the question is, how much time we have to wait, this ends with the patience of any human being :megalol:
