Bee_Sting Posted March 15, 2011 Posted March 15, 2011 i was wondering if you can change the FOV in BS to have a better view of the battle field. i don't have a head tracking system,so changing the FOV in the game files would benefit me!
Nate--IRL-- Posted March 15, 2011 Posted March 15, 2011 Use / or * on the numpad (In cockpit). Use RCTRL and / or * on the numpad when in external views. Nate Ka-50 AutoPilot/stabilisation system description and operation by IvanK- Essential Reading
Bee_Sting Posted March 15, 2011 Author Posted March 15, 2011 you are missing my point! i should be able to go to a file and change the FOV. right now you see about 30deg but i wanna see 90deg. so when the game starts you can see more but editing a file in the games files itself
congo Posted March 15, 2011 Posted March 15, 2011 Look in your view lua file for this line, CameraViewAngleLimits[PlaneIndex.iKA_50] = {20.0, 120.0} First is zoom in view and second is zoom out view.
Nate--IRL-- Posted March 15, 2011 Posted March 15, 2011 Apologies, I didn't read your post properly. Try editing Line 951 in \\Config\View\snapviewsdefault.lua or Line 940 in snapviews.lua Look in your view lua file for this line, CameraViewAngleLimits[PlaneIndex.iKA_50] = {20.0, 120.0} First is zoom in view and second is zoom out view. These are the zoom limits rather than the default zoom. Nate Ka-50 AutoPilot/stabilisation system description and operation by IvanK- Essential Reading
Bee_Sting Posted March 15, 2011 Author Posted March 15, 2011 ok cool! i mean for of a FOV wide angle! 45deg or wider! thanks for the zoom i like the zoom i want more wide angle as like you have with you eye sight!
Nate--IRL-- Posted March 15, 2011 Posted March 15, 2011 Default is 90, or Snap[9][13]["viewAngle"] = 89.777544238285 to be precise. Any value over 90 will increase your FOV. Nate Ka-50 AutoPilot/stabilisation system description and operation by IvanK- Essential Reading

Nate I think he is looking for a way to prevent the sim from starting in the zoomed in view. The parameters for both of these lines 940 and 951 are already at approx 90.
ED Team f-18hornet Posted March 15, 2011 ED Team Posted March 15, 2011 I'd like to do the same thing not only in Ka-50 but also in A-10C but which line please? AMD Ryzen 9 3900X, GeForce RTX 2080Ti, 32 GB DRAM, HOTAS TM Warthog, FSSB R3 Lighting, MFG Crosswind, Win 10 Pro
Nate--IRL-- Posted March 15, 2011 Posted March 15, 2011 For warthog look at Line 1059 of \\Config\View\snapviewsdefault.lua I think or 1048 of \\Config\View\snapviews.lua. Remember you MUST use Notepad++ or you risk corrupting the files. Nate Ka-50 AutoPilot/stabilisation system description and operation by IvanK- Essential Reading

Bucic Posted March 15, 2011 Posted March 15, 2011 I've never bothered to alter my initial FOV permanently. I always adjust it during startup using the ?Ctrl+Numpad* etc. See the key commands pdf.
