kingneptune117 Posted March 19, 2011 Posted March 19, 2011 Hey guys, So I am having a big problem with this mission. Whenever I try to put dumb bomb weapons\gun on target, they are extremely inaccurate. My guess is because of the hilly terrain. Maybe it is confusing the radar? Ill put the pipper right on target and my cbu87 will land pretty far off from where it should. Am I correct in saying it is because of the terrain? If so how does one get around this problem? Thanks. Bahger Posted March 20, 2011 Posted March 20, 2011 Yeah, the terrain is at about 7k AGL and there are AA defenses, so I run in at Angels 25 and bomb from there. One good tactic is to switch your Consent Release option in the IFFCC test menu in the HUD from Manual to 3/9; this will enable you to make a much shallower dive onto the target as the pipper appears at a - 5 degree pitch down.

Sarge55 Posted March 20, 2011 Posted March 20, 2011 DTS mode? Isn't that a subsystem for the CDU? Could you elaborate WarriorX? [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] i7 10700K OC 5.1GHZ / 500GB SSD & 1TB M:2 & 4TB HDD / MSI Gaming MB / GTX 1080 / 32GB RAM / Win 10 / TrackIR 4 Pro / CH Pedals / TM Warthog
nemises Posted March 20, 2011 Posted March 20, 2011 have a look here: http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=70277 Essentially the weapons impact calulations are based on the set altitude of the currently select mission point. DTS is pre stored elevation data (like map alevation data), and you can change the mission point (steerpoint or waypoint) to use it instead of the value set in the mission editor. Alternatively, you can adjust the steer point data in the mission planner before starting the mission. Probably even better to set your own Mark point though which will use laser ranging and slant range calcs to generate the impact projection. ..I think.. 1
Sarge55 Posted March 20, 2011 Posted March 20, 2011 Thanks Nemises. I'll try both methods. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] i7 10700K OC 5.1GHZ / 500GB SSD & 1TB M:2 & 4TB HDD / MSI Gaming MB / GTX 1080 / 32GB RAM / Win 10 / TrackIR 4 Pro / CH Pedals / TM Warthog
