Hey guys, I am brainstorming ideas for the satire I am supposed to write and I'd like a little help. So the idea is, a man goes to a car dealership to buy a car, and his wife to him to buy a hybrid, but he wants a huge manly SUV. As he is walking to the salesmen, he is quickly thinking of ridiculous reasons why he should get the SUV, not the hybrid. I already have one reason, since we(America) went into war in the middle east and secured lots of oil, it would be unpatriotic to not use it. I'm also working on another, that hybrids are so small compared to SUV, they are unsafe to drive because an SUV might not see the hybrid and crash into it. Do you guys have any ideas either for getting the SUV, or against getting the hybrid? Thanks:thumbup:

Did you know that when you driving a prius, and you put your hand out da window.

The vehicle will turn...???

Uh, is that supposed to be funny?

Priuses (or what ever the plural of Prius is) consume a lot of energy to make. The big thing here is the nickel in the batteries. It is mined in China via a very dirty process. It is then shipped on a cargo ship to Canada, where it is put in the batteries. Then the batteries are put on another ship to go to Japan, where the cars are made. Then the completed cars are put on ships to whichever continent they are going to be sold on.

All of these things contribute to damaging the environment, but I don't know if SUVs and other inefficient fuel users are "cleaner" over the lifespan of the vehicle.

Just something to think about when considering purchasing the hybrid.

Maybe this discussion can be in your satire?

I only respond to that little mechanical voice that says "Terrain! Terrain! Pull Up! Pull Up!"
