darrenkarp Posted March 30, 2011 Posted March 30, 2011 Hi all, I'm looking for someone (in the UK if possible for low ping) that has patience and the willingness to train a noob on a 1-2-1 basis in flying a mission. Nothing too complex, simply take off, fly, attack and fly home. Obviously using TS for voice in order to guide me through the myriad of key commands, et al. Can anyone help? TIA Darren 1
PlainSight Posted March 30, 2011 Posted March 30, 2011 If you're not confident with the plane, leave the attack part out. You can have plenty of fun with navigation, cdu, tad, tacan and ils systems. Once you know about markpoints and custom flightplans, it makes the attack much easier. [SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]
mtuckner Posted March 30, 2011 Posted March 30, 2011 Before someone helps you mesh all the systems together in a mission, have you run through all of the training numerous times and have a solid understanding of each component individually, or at least done them enough, and although struggling have a basis for more talk on training?
Kenan Posted March 30, 2011 Posted March 30, 2011 You don't have to go thru TACAN, NAV and rest of the mumbo jumbo, those are there just to make the A10 look cool n fancy. What you really need to know is to take off, set the Arm switch to ON and press "M" couple of times untill you see the "GUNS" word in the middle of your HUD. :D 2 [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Commanding Officer of: 2nd Company 1st financial guard battalion "Mrcine" See our squads here and our . -Ice Posted March 30, 2011 Posted March 30, 2011 I'll take you on, darren. Hit me with a PM. I'm not "expert" or anything but I'll teach you enough to be able to fly around and blow stuff up. And no, I think the tutorials can be a bit confusing at first. I know I was :D - Ice
MTFDarkEagle Posted March 30, 2011 Posted March 30, 2011 If you want, I can help you :) I can deploy all weapons with good results, though I'm not very proficient with the CDU yet.. Throw me a pm if you want. Also: Take Tyger's offer very VERY seriously! He is very good! Have you seen his instructional video's on youtube? Highly recommended for combat employement. 1 Lukas - "TIN TIN" - 9th Shrek Air Strike Squadron TIN TIN's Cockpit thread
Eight Ball Posted March 30, 2011 Posted March 30, 2011 Same here Darren, whenever I can I try to run a small server called FFFTN (Free Flight For The Noobs). Everyone is welcome, the goal is to have fun and help each other to have a better understanding of the Warthog. Just don't ask anything about the CDU :D Find The Links To All My Mods And Liveries Here (in the gallery)
MTFDarkEagle Posted March 30, 2011 Posted March 30, 2011 Yeah one of those servers is a good idea, but if someone's seriously trying to learn the aircraft's systems, I think it's best for a 1-on-1 session (or sessions obviously :P ) Lukas - "TIN TIN" - 9th Shrek Air Strike Squadron TIN TIN's Cockpit thread
Chris CDN Posted March 30, 2011 Posted March 30, 2011 I'm happy to help as well. It'll have to wait until post patch, but I enjoy setting up training missions and just having some fun learning a few things. 1 NSDQ
Eight Ball Posted March 30, 2011 Posted March 30, 2011 erh...what means 1-on-1 ? Sounds pretty homosexual to me :D Find The Links To All My Mods And Liveries Here (in the gallery)
Stretch Posted March 30, 2011 Posted March 30, 2011 I'm going to get a TOS violation for this, but I can't resist ... does that mean 1-on-2 or 2-on-1 would be straight? *confused* Tim "Stretch" Morgan 72nd VFW, 617th VFS Other handles: Strikeout (72nd VFW, 15th MEU Realism Unit), RISCfuture (BMS forums) PC and Peripherals: https://pcpartpicker.com/user/RISCfuture/saved/#view=DMp6XL Win10 x64 — BMS — DCS — P3D

S77th-konkussion Posted March 30, 2011 Posted March 30, 2011 I can help too if you like. Savage TS info: http://www.s77th.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=1666 [sIGPIC]http://forums.eagle.ru/attachment.php?attachmentid=43337&d=1287169113[/sIGPIC]
Eight Ball Posted March 30, 2011 Posted March 30, 2011 Seriously no I don't know what it means. A wild guess would be 1 experimented pilot with 1 unexperimented but then what means 1-2-1 train a noob on a 1-2-1 basis Is it something completely different ? A10FAN Posted March 30, 2011 Posted March 30, 2011 (edited) Look no further. 'T' Tyger has some great training videos on youtube check these out i watch them everyday http://www.youtube.com/user/Tigerpwrr Another thing that would be great in this sim would be if a observer could see the pilot in the cockpit and give him tips while he's flying, then you could see what he's doing right or wrong and give advice Edited March 31, 2011 by A10FAN 2 http://www.youtube.com/user/TheA10FAN?feature=mhum coolermaster HAF full tower Intell i7 960 bloomfield 4.0Ghz Evga X58 Classified 3 mobo Corsair H-60 Hydro Cooler Corsair Dominator GT 12g DDR3 1866 ram Corsair Pro Series AX1200w ps OCZ Vertex3 SSD 240g Evga GTX590 Vid Card Creative X-FI Titanium soundcard TM Warthog Hotas
S77th-konkussion Posted March 30, 2011 Posted March 30, 2011 Excellent idea. Logged on as a spectator- but able to see into a chosen cockpit & discuss it live/ in real time. However- it would need the ability to be turned on & off for obvious cheatin' reasons.. [sIGPIC]http://forums.eagle.ru/attachment.php?attachmentid=43337&d=1287169113[/sIGPIC]
