Ghost_unit13 Posted March 31, 2011 Posted March 31, 2011 (edited) Hi Guys, Version 2.0 of the Ipadpit is available for download This version includes the following: • All MFD's and CDU displays are working. • The UFC is now directly reachable from the LeftMFD • An extra Activity is added with a landscape ipad view with 2 working MFD's and UFC • Some extra switches are added like the autopilot switches. There are two profiles included in this package. One for a Dual MFD and one for a Single MFD solution. You might choice to use one MFD to get a better in game cockpit FOV. Performances wise there is a difference also. It’s up to you with on you prefer. Read the doc's for the installation and configuration instructions. You can get it at the download link on my site www.ipadpit.nl Have fun. Edited April 12, 2011 by Ghost_unit13 2 www.Ipadpit.nl :pilotfly:

Thermal Posted March 31, 2011 Posted March 31, 2011 From the doco: Note:I don’t use a second monitor and for me with a 1920x1600 resolution a dual MFD250x250 is acceptable. So does that mean you create a "virtual" screen with a 1920x1600 resolution, display only the top 1920x1200 on your monitor and display the MFCD's in the non-viewable part of the virtual screen?

I know I could have been a bit clearer in some parts of my doc :music_whistling: but no, what I mean is that with a resolution of 1920x1200 I can live with the 2 250x250 mfd's in the left lower corner of my FOV. So they are alway visible. I you know a way to display them in a non viewable part let me know! www.Ipadpit.nl :pilotfly:

DayGlow Posted April 1, 2011 Posted April 1, 2011 (edited) Works well, only thing is that it only works in Windowed mode? I can't get it to run while DCS is fullscreen. Much rather have fullscreen as at 3 monitor resolution windowed mode really slows things down. Also is there any way i can speed up the screen grab fps? It's just a tad too slow to make using the target pod fluid. Ghost_unit13 Posted April 1, 2011 Author Posted April 1, 2011 That's interesting. I've seen this before.. I Have to check. . Is your in game resolution the same size as you windows res? what could happen is that you grabbing "outsite" the game resolution if this one is smaller than the windows desktop resolution. www.Ipadpit.nl :pilotfly:
DayGlow Posted April 1, 2011 Posted April 1, 2011 Nope, both are the same. When I run full screen I can see my desktop in the mfd display, but it never updates to the mfd overlay setup in the game. When I run windowed it does show the overlays. I run a triple monitor eyefinity setup, but I don't think that would really make a difference as windows treats it as on big single monitor. Ghost_unit13 Posted April 2, 2011 Author Posted April 2, 2011 (edited) Do you get images of the gui of A10? and can you try it with a default monitor setup so we can exclude the triple monitor eyefinity setup? Edited April 2, 2011 by Ghost_unit13 www.Ipadpit.nl :pilotfly:
Ghost_unit13 Posted April 3, 2011 Author Posted April 3, 2011 (edited) I added a little update to correct a typo in the LeftMFD. Not a must have. http://www.lx200gps.nl/index.php/downloads/DCS-A10C-Profiles/backgound-image-LeftMFD/ Replaced the original v2.0 LeftMFD background with this one to correct and typo in the Autopilot text. Just add this version in Touch Ir You can do this by: Tools/import background image/ Select this file Confirm the "replace image?" message Edited April 4, 2011 by Ghost_unit13 www.Ipadpit.nl :pilotfly:
DayGlow Posted April 4, 2011 Posted April 4, 2011 Do you get images of the gui of A10? and can you try it with a default monitor setup so we can exclude the triple monitor eyefinity setup? sure thing. I went back to an extended desktop so each monitor is individually driven and loaded up DCS on the center monitor so it's running at 1920x1080 on a single display. Still running at full screen TouchIR isn't able to capture the MFCDs. All I can see in the MFCDs is my desktop while running DCS. Switch to windowed mode and it sees the GUI and load screens no problem and will display the MFCDs in flight. DayGlow Posted April 4, 2011 Posted April 4, 2011 Oh and is there a script or variable I can change to increase the update speed of the MFCDs? "It takes a big man to admit he is wrong...I'm not a big man" Chevy Chase, Fletch Lives 5800X3D - 64gb ram - RTX3080 - Windows 11
Ghost_unit13 Posted April 4, 2011 Author Posted April 4, 2011 (edited) Mm.. we had something like this before.. I think we have to contact Dave (the developer of TouchIR) about this.. Send me a pm or try sending him a mail about it at his touch IR support mail address, most times he replies very fast. There is an option to set the quality of the images in the grab window.. low is higher speed. default is High I think. I know the speed is something we have to work on but with the web view button this is probably not possible. For that we need streaming video. Something Dave is thinking about. Ghost_unit13 Posted April 5, 2011 Author Posted April 5, 2011 You might give disabling AERO Theme a try in full screen. In windows mode you seems to have it enabled to get the best performance.. www.Ipadpit.nl :pilotfly:
DayGlow Posted April 6, 2011 Posted April 6, 2011 Yup turning off aero works. "It takes a big man to admit he is wrong...I'm not a big man" Chevy Chase, Fletch Lives 5800X3D - 64gb ram - RTX3080 - Windows 11
Weidlich Posted April 7, 2011 Posted April 7, 2011 your Pit works fantastic :) Will you update the IpadpitKeyprofilev2.lua within the next time? I seems there where some changes in the default keyboard config. With your config the APU turns off, EAC and GCAS go off, when ALT-Tabbing to the desktop. This error was corrected by the devs during the later Beta releases. Unfortunately this error has returned with your .lua file :( regards Andre http://www.sysprofile.de/id17271

Ghost_unit13 Posted April 10, 2011 Author Posted April 10, 2011 Yup turning off aero works. there is an option in Touch IR for that. ( when starting TouchIR) Check for it in the Help option menu www.Ipadpit.nl :pilotfly:
Sickdog Posted May 8, 2011 Posted May 8, 2011 Awesome Ghost! Thanks so much for your work on this, I just got an iPad2 and got your pit working. I'm using a second monitor to extend my display so as not to have the live MFCD on my FOV... was driving me crazy. Unfortunately I think I have to operate in windowed mode to capture the live MFCD since I'm extending my desktop but maybe I'll try the above suggestions for the heck of it. hreich Posted May 13, 2011 Posted May 13, 2011 Hi, i like your program very much..I managed to set it up using your tutorial, but what do i need to change in your files for using resolution 1900*1080? How ever i set up my grabber window for MFD live feed, i have a black stretch above upper side of mfd? Ie, i cant fill the whole MFD, there is a black stretch on it...Do i need to change some numbers in one of the conf files? I am also using it on Ipad2 and i dont see any improvement over iphone pit in terms of speed... [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Pilot from Croatia
hreich Posted May 13, 2011 Posted May 13, 2011 Also another question, can you use second monitor without one...To use some sort of "virtual" second monitor for exporting mfd feed...? [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Pilot from Croatia

It look like the static mfd is not at the right position? And do you run A10 in windows mode? When in Windows mode you migth try enable or disabling Aero for better performance. www.Ipadpit.nl :pilotfly:
