I thought I had cbu's mastered until I installed new patch and now I get no ccip dashed or solid line below 6000 feet.

Anyone else see this?

Edit..I found a mention in passing of something to do with DTS but don't know what that is so will research.

Thanks.

During startup, once the IFFCC is finished and the HUD is fully displayed, scroll the DATA rocker on the UFC so that the number displayed under the current steerpoint in the lower-right corner starts flashing. Then use the SEL rocker to change it from whatever the number is to DTS.

There are numerous discussions on Target Elevation. If your current steerpoint is at 6000 ft, then you'll not have target data below 6000 ft, as you can't drop a bomb up. You can tell your targeting computer to pull it's elevation data from the information in DTS by doing the following:

• On UFC: Data rocker down

• You'll see the target elevation flashing on line three

• Select rocker down until flashing number changes to DTS

It's a good thing that this is Early Access and we've all volunteered to help test and enhance this work in progress... despite the frustrations inherent in the task with even the simplest of software... otherwise people might not understand that this incredibly complex unfinished module is unfinished. /light-hearted sarcasm

I'll save Wags the trouble :D

Q: Why do I sometimes get a CCIP INVALID message?

A: In order for the IFFCC to compute a CCIP solution, it must know the elevation under the CCIP pipper (gun, rocket, bomb, etc.). This can either be a HOT elevation based on the Steerpoint elevation, or DTS elevation stored in the digital map database system. If not in DTS and the steerpoint is at a higher elevation than the CCIP pipper, you will get a CCIP INVALID message. Unless you have a DTS failure, you should always use DTS, as indicated on the HUD in the data block. If you do not see DTS, press the DATA rocker on the UFC and then the SEL rocker until DTS appears.

its no worries mate, this is a complicated system with a LOT of little things, and we're all still learning.

+1

That's why I like this forum, this sim and this team of testers--each and all.

...I feel dumb enough in the cockpit... I'm never reminded of it when I ask a question on this board. (...it's abidingly clear :) )

Cheers,
