MadTommy Posted May 25, 2011 Posted May 25, 2011 Hey ClearDark, i trust things are good with you... I have a question...what format of vector graphics is compatible with your latest version? I tried *svg, svgz & swf but get an error parsing profile, out of memory. vector-drawn gauges Thanks i5-3570K @ 4.5 Ghz, Asus P8Z77-V, 8 GB DDR3, 1.5GB GTX 480 (EVGA, superclocked), SSD, 2 x 1680x1050, x-fi extreme music. ClearDark Posted May 25, 2011 Author Posted May 25, 2011 Vector drawn gauges means the graphic itself was hand drawn and saved as vector. This allows scaling of the gauges to any size while retaining its full detail. The gauges were drawn using Microsoft Expression Design 4. Things are quiet good, development on HawgTouch is slowed down significantly due some recent real life events which have prevented me from continuing the project at full steam as I did before. But be assured that HT 1.6 is on the works, and will contain all the promised features mentioned in these forums, a new input system, switches synchronization with the sim, the remaining missing gauges (oxygen gauges) and a modified gauge pack with all gauges updated and refined.

MadTommy Posted May 31, 2011 Posted May 31, 2011 ClearDark (or anyone else)... i have made a new profile.. CDU, RWR & new MFCD frames. The New MFCD frames also include the ADJ, DSP, BRT, CON, SYM rockers & On/Off/Night 3 way knob. But i'm having a problem with the rockers on the MFCDs. For some reason the Rockers when selected remain pressed. So if you press the BRT + rocker for example the brightness will increase until it reaches its maximum and remains pressed. Any idea what might be causing this issue? Thanks Below is the xml for the rockers.. i can't see anything wrong with it. <!-- Rockers--> <Button> <Name>ADJ</Name> <RockerUp>\Images\MFCDs\rockers_up_ADJ.png</RockerUp> <RockerDown>\Images\MFCDs\rockers_down_ADJ.png</RockerDown> <RockerNeutral>\Images\MFCDs\rockers_neutral_ADJ.png</RockerNeutral> <Type>RockerSwitch</Type> <ID>21</ID> <Y>40</Y> <X>8</X> <KeyCommandUp>{LWIN}{RALT}w</KeyCommandUp> <KeyCommandDown>{LWIN}{RALT}q</KeyCommandDown> </Button> <Button> <Name>DSP</Name> <RockerUp>\Images\MFCDs\rockers_up_DSP.png</RockerUp> <RockerDown>\Images\MFCDs\rockers_down_DSP.png</RockerDown> <RockerNeutral>\Images\MFCDs\rockers_neutral_DSP.png</RockerNeutral> <Type>RockerSwitch</Type> <ID>22</ID> <Y>40</Y> <X>987</X> <KeyCommandUp>{LWIN}{RALT}i</KeyCommandUp> <KeyCommandDown>{LWIN}{RALT}u</KeyCommandDown> </Button> <Button> <Name>BRT</Name> <RockerUp>\Images\MFCDs\rockers_up_BRT.png</RockerUp> <RockerDown>\Images\MFCDs\rockers_down_BRT.png</RockerDown> <RockerNeutral>\Images\MFCDs\rockers_neutral_BRT.png</RockerNeutral> <Type>RockerSwitch</Type> <ID>23</ID> <Y>860</Y> <X>987</X> <KeyCommandUp>{LWIN}{RALT}r</KeyCommandUp> <KeyCommandDown>{LWIN}{RALT}e</KeyCommandDown> </Button> <Button> <Name>CON</Name> <RockerUp>\Images\MFCDs\rockers_up_CON.png</RockerUp> <RockerDown>\Images\MFCDs\rockers_down_CON.png</RockerDown> <RockerNeutral>\Images\MFCDs\rockers_neutral_CON.png</RockerNeutral> <Type>RockerSwitch</Type> <ID>24</ID> <Y>860</Y> <X>8</X> <KeyCommandUp>{LWIN}{RALT}y</KeyCommandUp> <KeyCommandDown>{LWIN}{RALT}t</KeyCommandDown> </Button> <Button> <Name>SYM</Name> <RockerUp>\Images\MFCDs\rockers_SYM_right.png</RockerUp> <RockerDown>\Images\MFCDs\rockers_SYM_left.png</RockerDown> <RockerNeutral>\Images\MFCDs\rockers_SYM.png</RockerNeutral> <Type>RockerSwitch</Type> <ID>25</ID> <Y>988</Y> <X>900</X> <KeyCommandUp>{LWIN}{RALT}s</KeyCommandUp> <KeyCommandDown>{LWIN}{RALT}a</KeyCommandDown> </Button> <!-- Rotary--> I'll share all this when i have ironed out the remaining issues. Flim Posted May 31, 2011 Posted May 31, 2011 I meant export the text via network output rather than export the view windows sorry. Oh, sorry man... no one can do this currently!
shu77 Posted May 31, 2011 Posted May 31, 2011 I know you could do an RWR export under FC2, but the commentary a couple pages back was that the arguments changed between FC and DCS, and it no longer returns any results. Really the CMS and the CDU are just text output so it would really depend on whether that data is cached as text variable or as graphics data. I havent really had time to look but I did see when setting up my CDU export that there seems to be a lot of LUA data to define the behaviour of the CDU so I would be surprised if it wasnt in there *somewhere*. Flim Posted May 31, 2011 Posted May 31, 2011 Well, if it could be done... then Gadroc would have done it by now!
ClearDark Posted June 1, 2011 Author Posted June 1, 2011 Hey Tommy, Could you send me the profile? I'll investigate this issue to the bottom. shu77 - As Flim said, it is not currently possible but ED team might allow it in the future :)
MadTommy Posted June 1, 2011 Posted June 1, 2011 Hey Tommy, Could you send me the profile? I'll investigate this issue to the bottom. Cheers mate, my main PC is down right now.. so i wont have access to the files for a couple of days.. I'll send it to you as soon as i can. The issue occurs for all the rockers switches on the MFCDs. This problem is not present on the UFC or any other rockers switches I've setup, so i'm little confused by it. Not sure if it is an game issue or a Hawg Touch problem. Thanks. i5-3570K @ 4.5 Ghz, Asus P8Z77-V, 8 GB DDR3, 1.5GB GTX 480 (EVGA, superclocked), SSD, 2 x 1680x1050, x-fi extreme music. TM Warthog, Saitek combat pro pedals, TrackIR 4
Cowboy10uk Posted June 4, 2011 Posted June 4, 2011 (edited) Wow this looks like a great program and one I think will do what I want, But can someone confirm or deny that. My plan is to run 3 23" monitors for my main view on my main pc running DCS A10 on a ATI 5800 at 5940 x 1080. I also want to run a 4th 15" monitor to display my MFD's at 1280 x 1024. To do this I have 2 options. 1. Run it from a XP machine and export MFD's to that, which I beleve this program will allow me to do. Please correct me if im wrong. or 2. Put a 2nd graphics card in the main pc a ATI 9800 and somehow get DCS A10 to talk to both graphic cards. I have no idea if this is possible maybe someone again could help here. Anyway those are my options. I'm hoping that this program will assist in my plans, but again can someone tell me if my plans are possible or am I barking up the wrong tree. Im fine at flying these things but programming and the internals of Pc's still leave me confused as hell :) Cowboy10uk Edited June 4, 2011 by Cowboy10uk [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Fighter pilots make movies, Attack pilots make history, Helicopter pilots make heros. :pilotfly: Corsair 570x Crystal Case, Intel 8700K O/clocked to 4.8ghz, 32GB Vengeance RGB Pro DDR4 3200 MHZ Ram, 2 x 1TB M2 drives, 2 x 4TB Hard Drives, Nvidia EVGA GTX 1080ti FTW, Maximus x Hero MB, H150i Cooler, 6 x Corsair LL120 RGB Fans And a bloody awful Pilot
Gadroc Posted June 4, 2011 Posted June 4, 2011 1. Run it from a XP machine and export MFD's to that, which I beleve this program will allow me to do. Please correct me if im wrong. That's not true. Neither Hawgtouch nor Helios allow the MFDs to be displayed. They only display the bezels and allow interaction via the touch screen or mouse. 2. Put a 2nd graphics card in the main pc a ATI 9800 and somehow get DCS A10 to talk to both graphic cards. I have no idea if this is possible maybe someone again could help here. Putting the MFDs on a second video card and many people have done so, but you will loose FPS by doing so. How much depends on many factors. If you already have the hardware try it.
Cowboy10uk Posted June 4, 2011 Posted June 4, 2011 Thanks for your reply gadroc, guess I got the wrong idea. However I am happy to hear that some have managed to get A10 using 2 graphics cards. So i will go down that route, Fingers crossed it wil work. Ill keep looking to see if I need to do any changes to the files to allow A10 to see both cards. Im guessing as they are both Ati cards, be it a few years apart that fingers crossed they will use the same drivers :) Cowboy10uk [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Fighter pilots make movies, Attack pilots make history, Helicopter pilots make heros. :pilotfly: Corsair 570x Crystal Case, Intel 8700K O/clocked to 4.8ghz, 32GB Vengeance RGB Pro DDR4 3200 MHZ Ram, 2 x 1TB M2 drives, 2 x 4TB Hard Drives, Nvidia EVGA GTX 1080ti FTW, Maximus x Hero MB, H150i Cooler, 6 x Corsair LL120 RGB Fans And a bloody awful Pilot
Gadroc Posted June 4, 2011 Posted June 4, 2011 Nothing special you have to do aside from turn off fullscreen in the options. Aside from that follow the multi-monitor setup guides in the A-10C Support forums.
Cowboy10uk Posted June 4, 2011 Posted June 4, 2011 Cool. So it will see both cards straight away . that's just what I want to hear. Many thanks Gadroc. I already have the 3 set up. So I will just connect the 4th monitor and extend the res to include the 4th monitor. Can't wait to have this up and running, fingers crossed it won't slow down the fps to much, it's only a couple of monitors extra on top of what it's already running at a decent speed. cowboy10uk [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Fighter pilots make movies, Attack pilots make history, Helicopter pilots make heros. :pilotfly: Corsair 570x Crystal Case, Intel 8700K O/clocked to 4.8ghz, 32GB Vengeance RGB Pro DDR4 3200 MHZ Ram, 2 x 1TB M2 drives, 2 x 4TB Hard Drives, Nvidia EVGA GTX 1080ti FTW, Maximus x Hero MB, H150i Cooler, 6 x Corsair LL120 RGB Fans And a bloody awful Pilot
shu77 Posted June 4, 2011 Posted June 4, 2011 Theres another thread running about how to turn off the display of the MFCD's in cockpit, so that they only render on your external screen, that way you dont render them twice and you get back a bit of your frames. That was the approach I took Hornet, Super Carrier, Warthog & (II), Mustang, Spitfire, Albatross, Sabre, Combined Arms, FC3, Nevada, Gulf, Normandy, Syria AH-6J i9 10900K @ 5.0GHz, Gigabyte Z490 Vision G, Cooler Master ML120L, Gigabyte RTX3080 OC Gaming 10Gb, 64GB RAM, Reverb G2 @ 2480x2428, TM Warthog, Saitek pedals & throttle, DIY collective, TrackIR4, Cougar MFDs, vx3276-2k Combat Wombat's Airfield & Enroute Maps and Planning Tools
jireland607 Posted June 6, 2011 Posted June 6, 2011 Anyone having trouble setting up MFCD's etc may want to have a look at this: http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=72755&highlight=easy+monitor+configurator Its a tool for selecting and placing them. I have only just seen it on the forums and have not tried it but looks useful. ______________________________________________________________________________________ AMD Phenom II X4 955 3.4 Ghz | 8GB DDR3 Dual Channel | Ati HD4850 XFX | 22" Samsung TFT & NEC 17" touchscreen
Cowboy10uk Posted June 6, 2011 Posted June 6, 2011 Thanks for all the advice guys, sadly the 2nd card wouldn play ball with windows 7 as the only drivers were not digitally signed, darn Microsoft. Anyhow no matter, I've decided to stick in ATI 5570 which as it's a 5000 series hd card will work with the same drivers I have now. That along with the find by jireland607, cheers mate, should get all the screens working very nicely together, as well as giving me. The capacity to add another 3 monitors if I wish, ummmm why can I feel another 15" coming on for the left mfd ;) Anyway thanks alot, I think flying the hog is about to get a whole lot better. Thrashor Posted June 7, 2011 Posted June 7, 2011 Hi Guys - Apologies if I am being a bit thick (chances are good!) I downloaded A-10c yesterday and is my first foray into serious Sims on a rig I have just built especially for the purpose. I am loving it so far, as are the various vendors of joysticks and other tracking hardware that I have just splurged on.... I am a self delared beginner on all things LUA and XML and the such like and have spent the better part of the day following the excellent thread on getting my MCFD's on my second monitor and have moved onto HawgTouch. So far i have my MCFD's where I want them, the HawgTouch frames spawn in exactly the right places around them and I have mapped the key binding for the right and left 20 MCFD buttons per the convention in the first HawgTouch thread. All this seems to work fine. However I am sure I am missing something... My undestanding is that using HawgTouch I can frame my MCFD's on a second monitor (this I have done succesfully) and when i click one of the MCFD buttons with my mouse it will mimic the same mouse click had I done it on the MCFD's in their original in cockpit position. However when i click one of the MCFD buttons in HawgTouch nothing happens in terms of MCFD funtionality! What am I missing? I am sure I have missed a step but i can't find where I am going wrong. Can one of you kind souls let me know what I have not done that I should have?
