BTTW-DratsaB Posted April 24, 2011 Posted April 24, 2011 I'd really like to be able to change options (specifically graphical options) while we are in flight via the ESC menu like in other games. I think this would make getting our graphics to the perfect balance much easier. It would also help me and probably others understand the performance impact of all the various options much better. E.g. what I can afford to crank up and what might be causing more fps drop than I expect. The fact that the launcher and program are separate makes me believe the chances for this change are remote for now. But it might interesting to see who else would like this change. Is there a particular technical reason as to why these settings are inaccessible from in game? Even things like changing sound volumes and control mappings are quite a pain at the moment (if you start a mission and realise you need to change something), especially with the (understandably) long load times. joey45 Posted April 24, 2011 Posted April 24, 2011 No cos they use 2 different EXEs. Which is good cos it reduces the work for the CPU and other system resources. The only way to make sense out of change is to plunge into it, move with it, and join the dance. Not that's not right the problem is restarting the graphic engine in game is complicated. Is much easier to do it when is loading the game. the two .exe variant doesn't have to do anything with that. Shinigami Posted April 25, 2011 Posted April 25, 2011 but +1 for in game video change La guerra, asi como es madrastra de los cobardes, es madre de los valientes. Cervantes. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
Boberro Posted April 25, 2011 Posted April 25, 2011 There are no impossible things. It surely isn't big problem for ED programmers if they can make complicate simulation but there are more priority things to do. Adding possibility to change options via Escape or in Multiplayer session would be nice. Also I wish they added separate texture options for cockpit and terrain. Reminder: Fighter pilots make movies. Bomber pilots make... HISTORY! :D | Also to be remembered: FRENCH TANKS HAVE ONE GEAR FORWARD AND FIVE BACKWARD :D ಠ_ಠ ツ
Shinigami Posted April 25, 2011 Posted April 25, 2011 Also I wish they added separate texture options for cockpit and terrain. Care to explain? La guerra, asi como es madrastra de los cobardes, es madre de los valientes. Cervantes. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
Boberro Posted April 25, 2011 Posted April 25, 2011 :) Currently when you set up textures on "high", you get high textures everywhere. I would like to have cockpit textures on high, and terrain, plane skins and so on on low. High settings eat a lot of RAM memory. Reminder: Fighter pilots make movies. Bomber pilots make... Shinigami Posted April 25, 2011 Posted April 25, 2011 1+ for that La guerra, asi como es madrastra de los cobardes, es madre de los valientes. Cervantes. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]

Frostiken Posted April 26, 2011 Posted April 26, 2011 I just want to bring up the list of controls... [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
Shinigami Posted April 26, 2011 Posted April 26, 2011 Well is the same with the remapping the keys is easier to do it, before loading time than after but at least showing the key mapping for consult without having to Alt+Tab for reading the PDF is +1 La guerra, asi como es madrastra de los cobardes, es madre de los valientes. Cervantes. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
Jona33 Posted April 26, 2011 Posted April 26, 2011 I agree. Especially useful for a new pilot trying to learn something if you can't remember all the controls. Always remember. I don't have a clue what I'm doing
