Peter_Pilot Posted April 25, 2011 Posted April 25, 2011 Hi All, just to say that I am hoping to have my homemade helicopter controls on display at the Flight Sim Convention, The Helicopter Museum, Weston Super Mare, UK, on the weekend 14/15th May 2011. If any of you Black Shark pilots can make it and would like to have a go with my setup you would be most welcome. http://www.fscweston.co.uk/ Many of you will have seen photos I posted earlier in the Home Cockpits section (http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=54830), I have made some progress and implemented a few improvements lately so hopefully it will all work well at the show. I am sorry it isn't very "Kamov" unlike some of the excellent Black Shark cockpits that have been posted in the Home Cockpits section. On the other hand it does work very well for stick & rudder flying so I am sure you'll find it fun. The cyclic is very sensitive like a real helicopter, finger tip control but very precise as well. More positive movements are needed on the collective and often quite large pedal inputs. I have a three screen Eyefinity setup with a fourth screen above connected to a seperate PC for an external multiplayer view. Many of the visitors to the show will be unfamiliar with Black Shark so it is important to have plenty for them to look at. 'hope to see you there. Best wishes, Pete.
71st_Mastiff Posted April 25, 2011 Posted April 25, 2011 Wow you can mass produce that very easy and sell many of them so simple and not very cumbersome. I would buy it. Thanks, if I decide to go into production I'll let you know. The design would have to be changed quite a bit to reduce the number of parts, you would be surprised just how many there are for something so simple looking. I have just made it up as I went along, if I did a Mk.2 it would be different. Pete.
Peter_Pilot Posted May 13, 2011 Author Posted May 13, 2011 Oh dear, this is embarrassing, at the last minute I found out that I would have to buy public liability insurance to cover exhibiting my home made kit at the show. This has proved to be too costly for me and so it is with regret that I have had to cancel. If anyone in the UK is still interested in having a go then maybe later in the year I could take my controls setup to a meeting of the South West Flight Simulator Group near Newton Abbot or possibly to a Bristol Flightsim Group meeting, subject to agreement of their respective organisers. Peter.

Peter_Pilot Posted May 23, 2012 Author Posted May 23, 2012 After last years disappointment I finally made it to the 2012 FSC Weston show last weekend (19/20 MAY 12). Thirty six people tried out my system over the two days. Nothing broke and I got lots of favourable comments so I am very pleased.
YakobeGrizzlyLepotyv Posted May 23, 2012 Posted May 23, 2012 Did you by chance use google sketch or CAD for the initial design or even draw? If the case is there chance we could have a look at the designs? cheers _________________________________________________ [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Vipers 406 http://www.vipers406.com/ 62nd Fighting Falcons http://www.62ndfightingfalcons.asn.au/ Jesus is coming, Look busy.
Peter_Pilot Posted May 24, 2012 Author Posted May 24, 2012 All my drawings were done by hand in pencil. Are you interested in any particular part of my design? Pete.
