WheelChair Posted May 9, 2011 Posted May 9, 2011 Hello Nice Persons! I'm in CCRP have the laser guided bomb highlighted and have the AG & latch selected and I have made the right MFCD SOI. I slew and lock on to target with laser on I approach the target but I only have one of the vertical lines to line up and the line is from the target to the bottom of the circle and thru it to the top of the circle with an arrow like symbol and the seconds to drop is zero next to it. I can't drop the bomb in this senario any assistance on how to get the vertical upper line to appear would be most appreciated. Wheels
SFJackBauer Posted May 9, 2011 Posted May 9, 2011 Sounds like you are in CCIP mode, change to CCRP by cycling the Master Mode button (M key). LGB profiles come by default with CCIP set, I don't know why (who would drop an LGB using CCIP primarily?)
WheelChair Posted May 9, 2011 Author Posted May 9, 2011 Not sure what you are asking I must hold down the weapons release button for it to drop if that is what you are asking? Manual release mode?
WheelChair Posted May 9, 2011 Author Posted May 9, 2011 thanx for the replies but I am in CCRP mode when this is occurring and if it were CCIP I would have the carrots and they are not visable so it isn't mixed up. Any other thoughts would be most appreciated. W__
nomdeplume Posted May 9, 2011 Posted May 9, 2011 Can you post a screenshot? Just hit PrintScreen while in-game and it'll place the screenshot in your 'Screenshots' folder, if you're on Vista/Win7 it'll be at C:\Users\yourusername\Saved Games\DCS Warthog\Screenshots
WheelChair Posted May 9, 2011 Author Posted May 9, 2011 Note: I believe this prob is map related now that UI tried it in CCIP as well and the reticle doesn't come on for it either. I will make another map and see if the prob persists. SFJackBauer can you elaborate on using CCIP for Laser Guyided Bombs I was educated with the CCRP mode for them is there an advantage of some kind with CCIP Mode? Thanx, Wheels

WarriorX Posted May 9, 2011 Posted May 9, 2011 Your problem is you have not set your target in the TGP as your SPI. In the screenshot you posted your SPI is currently set at your steerpoint. Use the TMS UP LONG to set your TGP point target as your SPI. You will know this is set when you look in your HUD at the small diamond representing the TGP sensor and it will have a line coming off of it. Once your SPI is set to your target in the TGP you will get a ASL or Azimuth Steering Line to steer you on to your target. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] "Is that you John Wayne?.......Is this me?" xXstubbifiedXx Posted May 9, 2011 Posted May 9, 2011 It looks like you are having the same issue I was. You need to have DTS mode set on the hud, which you don't. Next to the distance setting your hud says 11300 instead of DTS. From Warrior: pressing your DATA and SEL rocker down, this will show up in your lower right HUD under the steerpoint info and read X.XM/DTS. After that your CCRP calcs should work fine. **EDIT** Looks like Warrior beat me to it by a few seconds ;) [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] -------------------------------------------------- Joshua Stubbles, Environment Artist - i5-2400K @ 3.8ghz | Thermaltake Frio CPU cooling | ASUS P8P67 Pro Rev3.1 | 8GB Corsair Dominator @1600mhz | 2x GeForce GTS250 SLI AF2 | 2x WDHDD 500GB RAID 0 | Thermaltake Armor case | Thermaltake Tough Power 850w PSU | Samsung BX2440X | BenQ FP202W | Saitek X52 Pro | Thrustmaster Cougar MFD | TrackIR4 Pro

Frostiken Posted May 9, 2011 Posted May 9, 2011 Regardless, that damn DTS thing is vital to know. God knows why it's not default... [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
Speed Posted May 9, 2011 Posted May 9, 2011 Regardless, that damn DTS thing is vital to know. God knows why it's not default... Well, sometimes it's better to not be in DTS... like anywhere that is hilly, if you are using CCIP or guns, it's better if you set a markpoint on your target, reference the markpoint as your current steerpoint, and be in the waypoint elevation mode. Note that I believe there is currently a bug where you cannot cycle through markpoints if you only have one markpoint, so make at least two. Intelligent discourse can only begin with the honest admission of your own fallibility. nomdeplume Posted May 9, 2011 Posted May 9, 2011 Regardless, that damn DTS thing is vital to know. God knows why it's not default... It kind of is the default, it depends on your startup sequence. I haven't worked out exactly what parameters determine whether it'll be in DTS or steerpoint elevation mode by default. Seems to me that if you turn the CICU and/or IFFCC on too early you'll get the steerpoint elevation. But it also seems to me that if you take too long you'll get the steerpoint elevation instead of DTS, too. Very puzzling... :)

luza Posted May 9, 2011 Posted May 9, 2011 Make sure you have your SPI set correctly ;) [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
WheelChair Posted May 9, 2011 Author Posted May 9, 2011 Actually, I think you were both right the tail making it SPI was now there then I still had the issue in fact the lower line disapeared after the SPI was set. I left that map and read your further instructions; went back in and HUD read DTS this time. I don't know what was causing the DTS not to be there but it is allset now. Any ideas as to what I did do to it to cause the issue that I may avoid this in the future. Just restarting the map alone didn't do it though. I noticed I was turning on a toggle switch "JTRS" to up position that was down this last time not sure if it was the only cause or if at all but that coupled with the XX.M/##### moved to DTS I was able to reproduce it with that. Thanx much for all you two do! W__ Look at the pic he posted stubb, his TGP diamond has no SPI indicator, yours did.
WheelChair Posted May 9, 2011 Author Posted May 9, 2011 Does anybody know when the right time is to turn it on? W__
Frostiken Posted May 9, 2011 Posted May 9, 2011 JTRS can always be on, it doesn't matter, it's just the JTAC datalink. Every time I ramp start I have to manually set DTS. I immediately set it and then leave it for the rest of the flight. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
WheelChair Posted May 9, 2011 Author Posted May 9, 2011 RGR Thanx so it is okay to turn the stuff on just watch for the DTS. W__ JTRS can always be on, it doesn't matter, it's just the JTAC datalink.
