Yep, very interesting!

Trailer:

But I'm curious, if an American production can be critical to both parties ... ?

If this is the same movie I am thinking of, about the georgian war, its 100% propoganda.

the clips that were kicking about on the net a whileback made the film look uber retarded.

Also it was made by a georgian film company.

Honestly? By the looks of it I'd rate it yet another anti-Russia piece of shite.

"So it goes a little like this. We're like, y'know, chilling and all and then the Russian dudes show up shooting everyone and everything and blowing everyone up and yeah, just like that. But it's like, life y'know? What can you do about it..."

I'm not Russian and I'm not too into the politics practiced around these corners but fact is, as bumfire said, it looks retarded.

Budget around $20,000,000.

Its certain that it'll show only the one side of the coin, but still, many people died in that war, and this film if nothing else, honors those who fought and died.

Release date 5th of June 2011. Still some editing to do before release.

Andy Garcia rocks

So it looks retarded, so what? Why make a "Western cinematography is against Russia" case? 90+ % of movies are piece of *, even higher percentage for wannabe factual movies.

BTW, if a country does get invaded, it'd better not have the story told by Hollywood. People won't believe it anyway "because it's Hollywood" :)

When I first saw skits of this on YouTube I thought it was a joke. I have no problem when movies show fictional states that resemble Russia/Eastern Europe countries fight against the almighty BLUEFOR... but when it is this blunt, I can't imagine it will be released to the general public.

Those who want to know the truth, either know it already or will find it one way or another.

Those who watch movies like this and go out and argue/behave/state what was shown to them in the movies... god bless them. Unfortunately, they outnumber the few.

Most are indeed, but I'm forced to say this one is a bit beyond. Usually I just don't care - anyone telling the story will bend it so that they'll look right, even when there's no one right or whatsoever. But in this particular case, I'm sorry but they can't be serious.

Don't watch it then.

Yep. ON the money. Complete and utter rubbish. Part of a wider PR campaign (much of the film was filmed with massive cooperation from the Georgian government.).

I'm out. I'm probably too sensitive on "something from the west *CLICK!* it's a propagandaaa!" issue as recently I've been reading too much comments under Russia Today YouTube videos :music_whistling: The movie from the OP is most probably crap. But that Pavlov's dog reflex is another (sad) story about wannabe truth bearers.

That was an odd trailer. Its almost like they forgot to play the dialog track for it. So you really have no idea what the hell the movie is about. Lucas from hell summed up my thoughts on it.

Another thought:

Its warporn. The director has made a bunch of horrible thoughtless action movies. The only movie he has made that doesn't make me instantly vomit is Die Hard 2.

Poor Val Kilmer. At least "fat" him had a decent role in Deja Vu.

The right man in the wrong place makes all the difference in the world.

..this is the director letting the scenes speak for themselves..:D

who needs dialog anyway..

..the peaceful wedding is disturbed by Hinds from hell..

..the president says something like. "You destroyed out homes, but cannot defeat us in our hearts."

..then comes the allegory to the afghan war: the first Hind falls, and there is hope..(and Val can smile for the first time)

I will not bother my self with targeted idiotic propaganda. The simplification of facts in this trailer is immoral. Director forgot to mention Osetia incidents that coused Russian "invasion".

Caught in the crossfire of full-scale combat and witness to the murder of civilians in another Russian assault, Anders records the evidence that will shock the world. But before he can act, Anders is captured, along with Sebastian and Tatia, by the architects of these atrocities, the ruthless Colonel Demidov (Rade Serbedjiza) and his mercenary killer, Daniil (Mikko Nousiainen). Just when all seems lost they are rescued in a daring raid by a Georgian soldier, Captain Rezo (Johnathon Schaech).

The next movie in this trend should utilize that scenario.

A single b-rate movie isn't a trend. But it is rather worrisome how much Georgia helped them film it. Not to mention it seems Georgian companies are the primary production companies behind it. :(

The plot you quoted from IMDB seems pretty much like the plot of "Behind Enemy Lines"

-both involve photo evidence of war crimes

-both based on "historical events" (movie speak for some of this happened, but nowhere near what the movie shows)

-both have corrupt commanding officers who have "mercenaries" do their dirty work for them

-both have freedom fighters (the underdogs) help rescue the main characters

-Oddly enough Georgia also supplied resources for Behind enemy lines. However Behind Enemy lines was a proper "hollywood" film.

The right man in the wrong place makes all the difference in the world.
