Gonzo01 Posted June 8, 2011 Posted June 8, 2011 I was able to get SADL working again. I was not enough to add back EPLRS to my JTAC vehicles, or to make sure they were set to true. I had to completely delete the vehicle and add it back so that the ME added the first-line under Advance Trigger Events and it read "EPLRS(true) -a" It seems important that the ME add the line when you add the vehicle and that the line appeared greyed out with the '-a' and set to true.
Druid_ Posted June 8, 2011 Posted June 8, 2011 ^nice find. i7-7700K : 16Gb DDR4 2800 Mhz : Asus Mobo : 2TB HDD : Intel 520 SSD 240gb : RTX 2080ti: Win10 64pro : Dx10 : TrackiR4 : TM Warthog : ASUS ROG SWIFT PG348Q
GAJ52 Posted June 8, 2011 Posted June 8, 2011 Where do I find information on this EPLRS, I've looked in the manual but can't find anything, its not even in the Acronyms section. Where do I check to see what vehicles or aircraft are EPLRS enabled ? GAJ52 Intel i7-7700K @ 4.60GHz | 32 GB Ram | Win 10 Pro 64 | GTX 1080i 11.00MB | Saitek X52 Pro

Gonzo are you sure it wasn't just the order of your tasks in the action menu? It seems that if you have freq, callsign or EPLRS after the FAC or FAC-Engage group, then they will not function correctly as that task will take priority. The JTAC will attempt to send data but nothing will come. Perhaps by deleting the vehicle you reset your EPLRS to the top of the action menu priority list which is why it worked? If I have EPLRS above the FAC task it works every time. It was included when I added a new vehicle that support JTAC that is why it was always added as the first line.
Panzertard Posted June 8, 2011 Posted June 8, 2011 EPLRS is required for datalink, indeed. Predators don't have EPLRS, bun can still act as a AFAC - but you wont get a datalink download from it. http://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=1218967&postcount=2 The mind is like a parachute. GAJ52 Posted June 8, 2011 Posted June 8, 2011 If you check ground units - you'll see most of them also supports EPLRS But where do we look to find this information ? GAJ52 Intel i7-7700K @ 4.60GHz | 32 GB Ram | Win 10 Pro 64 | GTX 1080i 11.00MB | Saitek X52 Pro
Panzertard Posted June 8, 2011 Posted June 8, 2011 Click the 'Advanced Action' on WPT for the unit - when you see the 'EPLRS -a' it has been automatically added since the unit supports this. The mind is like a parachute. It only works when it's open | The important thing is not to stop questioning

Scratchy Posted June 8, 2011 Posted June 8, 2011 I've found that EPLRS is required if you want data transmitted (as was verified in above posts). I've also found that the TAD NET's OwnID and GroupID can both be set to 1 and the data will be received--at least in terms of SP missions. I suppose this depends on the number of and order of creating other flights...but I don't know. Thanks to the investigative posters above and some digging into existing missions on my own, I now have a good handle on creating JTAC mission types. :D I wonder if simply switching a non-EPLRS unit to a EPLRS unit would work--retain the other commands and such and add the EPLRS -a line. Or, would it be required to delete the unit and replace with a properly equipped unit... /WONDERING_OUT_LOUD off - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Intel i7-8700K @4.9Ghz | 32Gb memory DDR4 | Evga GTX 1080ti | Saitek Eclipse keyboard | Logitech Mx518 | CH Fighterstick, Pro Throttle/Pedales | TIr5 | Win10 x64 - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
Gonzo01 Posted June 9, 2011 Posted June 9, 2011 I had JTAC working, but as soon as I added second JTAC in MP mission I lost both JTAC. Not sure what each aircraft group ID should be set to or whether the task Number in the list is affecting it. Bottom line it is not working in MP now. I wondet why ED has not documented a set of proceedures for how to use JTAC in SP and MP missions one or more JTAC's?
