mooshim Posted June 6, 2011 Posted June 6, 2011 Frankly, I'm too much of a newb to verify this myself. :( Wonder if a pilot could give some indication of this. Many thanks. Moosh Not for nothing but... "--Oi Vey, the patch is Oisgeshtrozelt..."--as my Jewish Gradmother, would say, if I had one, God rest her soul. Kaiza Posted June 6, 2011 Posted June 6, 2011 What exactly do you mean by Q calls? Do you mean QNH/QFE? If so check the thread a couple down, altimeter settings are still given in QFE. http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=75040 [url=http://www.aef-hq.com.au/aef4/forumdisplay.php?262-Digital-Combat-Simulator][SIGPIC]http://img856.imageshack.us/img856/2500/a10161sqnsignitureedite.png[/SIGPIC][/url]
Frostiken Posted June 6, 2011 Posted June 6, 2011 Q-calls are what ATC tells you for whatever Q-code you get. Being told the QFE is a Q-call. He wants to know if they're fixed, ie: in 1.1.0.7 you'd be told ridiculous things like 'QFE 3320'. I don't know if they are, but that thread seems to suggest that they are. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
Kaiza Posted June 6, 2011 Posted June 6, 2011 Weird, never heard them called that. [url=http://www.aef-hq.com.au/aef4/forumdisplay.php?262-Digital-Combat-Simulator][SIGPIC]http://img856.imageshack.us/img856/2500/a10161sqnsignitureedite.png[/SIGPIC][/url]
Frostiken Posted June 6, 2011 Posted June 6, 2011 It's actually referred to in the manual in a couple places, but never explains what it is. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]

Hehe the highest QFE ever measured is 3206 (32.06 inHg / 1085.7 hPa). I guess the DCS world works a little bit different :)

VirusAM Posted June 6, 2011 Posted June 6, 2011 yes, it has been fixed, but i'd prefer to use QNH as in real life i use this, someone knows how to convert QFE in QNH please? bluepilot76 Posted June 6, 2011 Posted June 6, 2011 Yes its easy> rule of thumb> 1mb=30 feet. if you know the altitude of your airfield, divide it by 30 and add the resulting number of millibars onto your QFE value.
