Zakatak Posted June 18, 2011 Posted June 18, 2011 (edited) I know alot of people hate the F-35, I know alot of people love the F-35. But we can all agree that it there is really nothing it can't do. I think the F-35 Lightning II should be a future DCS title and this is why. Diversity. It can do many roles, use many weapons, and would provide hundreds of gameplay challenges. F-35A would be a good way to start, flying what is basically an uglier, heavier, stealthier, equally manoeuvrable F-16. Then we get to experience some V/STOL Harrier-like gameplay with the F-35B. Now we are moving onto carrier landings in the F-35C. And next we conquer short, icy runways with the drag-chute equipped CF-35 (and play as Canadians, eh?). And when we are done all that, we jump in the F-35I and do it all over again in the Middle East. Also, it is an easy aircraft to fly so anybody could learn how to fly it without putting months and months into learning which switches to flick. Did I mention sexy LCD panels and an HMD? Since the game would take place in 2020, we might even be able to fight (and obviously die to) Russian jets like the SU-47. We might be able to fight alongside the F-22 Raptor aswell. Yay or nay? EDIT: Also, players with microphones could use voice commands like F-35 pilots can, and TrackIR can be used to kill enemies too. Edited June 18, 2011 by Zakatak
PhiXX Posted June 18, 2011 Posted June 18, 2011 sure, get the classified information and ed will be able to model it... read the numerous other threads, for example DCS aircraft wishlist
Frostiken Posted June 18, 2011 Posted June 18, 2011 The F-35 doesn't even functionally exist as a fighter, I think a study sim is out of the question :p [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
joey45 Posted June 18, 2011 Posted June 18, 2011 Oooh that Lightning, I thought you ment the EE Lightning.. The only way to make sense out of change is to plunge into it, move with it, and join the dance. Zakatak Posted June 18, 2011 Author Posted June 18, 2011 ...although the English Electric Lightning wouldn't be so bad either. Easter egg aircraft #2? 1
EtherealN Posted June 18, 2011 Posted June 18, 2011 Oooh that Lightning, I thought you ment the EE Lightning.. Me too. :D Anyways, to be serious for a moment, as far as a DCS:Lightning II goes it's not only about getting hands on the information. They would also need permission to use them - even if they got the information through other means it would still be a crime to distribute said information even if it is done in simulator form - I'm not sure those on the team who are citizens of the US and the UK (as a NATO country) would enjoy spending the rest of their lives in prison. :P And speaking personally, I'm not sure I'd be interested in a watered down Lightning, at least not under the DCS name. An FC implementation might be something else, but somehow I think that that's not quite likely to happen either. DCS EE Lightning though... That would be kickass! :D [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Daniel "EtherealN" Agorander | Даниэль "эфирныйн" Агорандер Intel i7 2600K @ 4.4GHz, ASUS Sabertooth P67, 8GB Corsair Vengeance @ 1600MHz, ASUS GTX 560Ti DirectCU II 1GB, Samsung 830series 512GB SSD, Corsair AX850w, two BENQ screens and TM HOTAS Warthog DCS: A-10C Warthog FAQ | DCS: P-51D FAQ | Remember to read the Forum Rules | | | Life of a Game Tester

Jona33 Posted June 19, 2011 Posted June 19, 2011 Me too. :D DCS EE Lightning though... That would be kickass! :D Now that would be fun. That plane was powerful. Always remember. I don't have a clue what I'm doing
Zakatak Posted June 22, 2011 Author Posted June 22, 2011 Never really considered that part. We don't even know how fast the plane goes yet (Mach 1.6 was a contract requirement), as not all the capabilities have been tested.
