Sidewinder91 Posted July 17, 2011 Posted July 17, 2011 What up fellow pilots! Hoping you alll can give me some good suggestions for a gaming desktop. Looking to spend around $1,000 (US) My poor A-10 is just sittin in it's hangar waitin for me :) Thanks!!
Sel94 Posted July 17, 2011 Posted July 17, 2011 (edited) I would recommend an Nvidia card, but I don't know much about them so I can't tell you a specific model. For a processor, the i5 2500k should be good. You can get the i7 2500k if you have spare money at the end. Also a good PSU, no less than 650 Watts, but maybe a little more if you get two GPUs. This article might give you some ideas to look at: http://techreport.com/articles.x/21164 Hey, your helpin me out quite a bit :) I wanna build one actually.. I think it would be good for me to do so I can learn more about how a computer works... Like I mentioned before, I know next to nothing about them so any input is appreciated. I would need a monitor.. I have looked at a few different CPU's and motherboards, etc but Im not quite sure what is compatible with what.. Make sure the socket type is supported.. Thats about as far as I got lol.. Anyway, whatever suggestions you have so I can get to flyin again would be great. That thread you mentioned has some good stuff.. Thank u

Rhinox Posted July 19, 2011 Posted July 19, 2011 I'd switch that P67 mobo for Z68 (which is actuall P67+H67, and a little more). Z68 has some nice add-on features: ssd-caching, on-cpu graphics support, discrete & on-cpu graphics combo. And the best is, it does not cost more... :-)
