Can someone help me with Multiplayer?

A few buddies of mine decided to give the game a try and for the first the other night we tried to do some multiplayer.

 

A little confusing but I noticed there aren't a ton of missions made for say the A-10.

 

Is it possible to do the campaign mp or just the pre built missions that are in the multiplayer directory?

 

I looked at a few places for some missions to download but haven't had the time as of yet.

No, it's not possible to fly the stock campaigns in multiplayer - they're single player only.

 

 

In order to fly them multiplayer, what you'd have to do is create a number of additional flights, with the desired properties, aircraft, weapons, loadouts, etc . . . . with the "Client" skill level in the Mission Editor.

You even have to plot the routes for these new flighs from scratch.

 

It's a pain, unfortunately . . . . Lomac's ME leaves a bit to be desired. Even a copy/paste function would make life easier.

 

 

Best way, if you've got a few buddies involved, is to cycle mission building between you . . . . one of you knows exactly what's going on, but the others get a fresh mission to fly every time :)

For converting Single to Multi-player, try the Merge option

 

In order to change a single player mission to a multi-player mission, you can change a flight of, for example, 4 planes to 4 multi-player clients with the Merge function which acts as a Copy/Paste function.

1) Select and Load the Single player mission you want to convert

2) Save it AS a new mission - new_mission_mp for example

3) Select the Flight that needs converting so that it's HighLighted.

4) On the Edit Menu, select the Merge option

5) Up will pop a list of missions

6) Double-Click on the new_mission_mp

7) What happens now is that a new flight is added as Merged_1

8) SAVE the mission by hitting the Save button at the Top

9) repeat the same steps starting with Step 4

10) When you have done it 2 more times, you will have 4 flights

11) In order to finish the multiplayer, you are going to have to edit the 4 flights

___ a) change the original flight to 1 player and to Client

___ b) the other Merged flights are going to need to have the first and last waypoints changed to Takeoff and Land

___ c) The Attack waypoints and the targets in the other Merged flights are going to be needed to be added back. The Weapon loadouts should be the same

Keep an eye on hyperlobby as sometimes there are some good A-10 missions there. If you do find such missions you like then save it as a mission in your mp folder to use later. Some of them are quite good, most single player missions and campaign missions don't have many ground targets so be aware of that.

The 504th has a server up & running all the time with a mission rotator changing it every couple of hours. (air & ground) The S77th server has some air to ground maps running regularly, but not all the time.

And even the Frogfoot server has been making an appearence every now & then.

 

This is a good server for a/g as you can have a great time with only a few online & ingame. Last night 3 of us cleaned up the map & had a ball, a feeling of teamwork, & a job well done, makes for fun flying on a quiet night in HL.

 

On a busy night the 504, & 169th Miniwar missions get a great turnout with combined A/G & A/A missions which promote teamwork between the groundpounders & air to air assets.

I agree, frogfoot server is brilliant. Great that the Subterranian Flogger didn't make a second appearance in that mission lol.
