arriflex Posted July 25, 2011 Posted July 25, 2011 Hey guys, somehow during this mission I lost my ability to get my TGP to slave to the selected waypoint. I tried making the HUD SOI and TMS up long to make the waypoint SPI, then slave (dont know if thats even a valid procedure). Somehow I was able to get the TGP to move by monkeying with the Slew in the TAD. Still fun overall :) Track: http://www.mediafire.com/file/da4ui9cixbxdvck/easy%20tgp%20slave%20issue.trk
FSXHD Posted July 25, 2011 Posted July 25, 2011 To make SPI the steerpoint, the command is TMS Down long, not up long. Then press China hat forward long to slave. If you want to slew the TGP, make it SOI first then use the slew hat. Frostiken Posted July 25, 2011 Posted July 25, 2011 I actually had this problem myself, and just fiddling with HOTAS figured it out. What's weird is that I *don't* think I'd ever come across this problem before... [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
Eddie Posted July 25, 2011 Posted July 25, 2011 China hat aft long to slew TGP to steerpoint, regardless of current SOI/SPI generator.
doright Posted July 26, 2011 Posted July 26, 2011 I had same problem after 1.1.0.9 patch. China hat aft long would send the TGP off somewhere in space. With TGP SOI and watching on the TAD I could slew it down to the steerpoint fairly quickly. I realized I hadn't followed the patch instructions completely. Particularly the part about deleting the DCS Warthog saved games folder. So I uninstalled, defrag'd, and reinstalled. It worked correctly after that.

I tried making the HUD SOI and TMS up long to make the waypoint SPI, then slave (dont know if thats even a valid procedure). I ran into this problem too, I don't think its a bug. I'm sure there's a reason for it. I corrected the situation on the fly by bore-sighting all sensors, then re-slaved to SPI. It's happened a couple of times and the above corrected the situation every time.

If the steerpoint is set at say 15,000ft in the mission Editor and you CHina Aft long to slave TGP to it then it will 'appear' to be pointing into space. Although on the 2D TAD the steerpoint appears to be on the ground, the only real confirmation is the placement of the steerpoint in your HUD (or by checking the WP info in the EGI, which you could change to ground level btw). It comes down the the mission designers. I set Transit waypoints at the Altitude I want the player to transit at. Approaching target areas I place IP & TGT waypoints at ground level. i7-7700K : 16Gb DDR4 2800 Mhz : Asus Mobo : 2TB HDD : Intel 520 SSD 240gb : RTX 2080ti: Win10 64pro : Dx10 : TrackiR4 : TM Warthog : ASUS ROG SWIFT PG348Q
