HiJack Posted October 10, 2011 Posted October 10, 2011 I have the ALT TAB problem as well. I try not to ALT TAB after starting A-10C so you need to plan ahead for witch server to play and connect to that TS3 up front. cichlidfan! Do you get time to play at all or are you just tweaking all night long? :P Well, if HDR is the only real issue and you are OK with it for now then wait. Reinstalling software is something I do without giving it much thought. I have lost count of how many times I have reinstalled A-10 (mostly for reasons other than actual problems with the game). I just did it two days ago as a matter of fact!;)
cichlidfan Posted October 10, 2011 Posted October 10, 2011 cichlidfan! Do you get time to play at all or are you just tweaking all night long? :P You mean you are supposed to actually play this thing?:D Actually, I have redundant systems so that if any one machine is down there is another capable and ready to take over the work/play load. Losing a machine temporarily is only a minor inconvenience. Also, life is too short for extensive trouble shooting when a rebuild takes so little time (all my software is deliverable from internal or networked disk drives). Even my DCS mods are bundled up so it only takes a couple of minutes to install them all. area593 Posted October 12, 2011 Posted October 12, 2011 I managed to find a fix for my problem, I don't know if it will help anyone else. I right clicked on the small box on the right hand side of the taskbar and turned "Peek at desktop" off and haven't had the issue since. :) 2
cichlidfan Posted October 12, 2011 Posted October 12, 2011 Cool, I will have to do that as well. I am sure it is turned on for all of my machines but I never use it. Thanks. I right clicked on the small box on the right hand side of the taskbar and turned "Peek at desktop" off and haven't had the issue since. :) I had this same alt tab to turn on HDR for many months now and with 1.0.9 it was pretty much every time but turning off "Peek at desktop" did it for me, multiple times I alt tabbed and no HDR Great solution :thumbup:
HiJack Posted October 14, 2011 Posted October 14, 2011 (edited) I see the "Peek at desktop" when right clicking on the right corner but it is not selectable! :( I'm on Win 64 bit and ATI HD5870 with the latest driver. Edited October 14, 2011 by HiJack
cichlidfan Posted October 14, 2011 Posted October 14, 2011 It is just there so you know it is on. To turn it off you need to right click on the taskbar bring up the properties applet. The left tab has a check box near the bottom. Uncheck it and it will turn AeroPeek off. 1 ASUS ROG Maximus VIII Hero, i7-6700K, Noctua NH-D14 Cooler, Crucial 32GB DDR4 2133, Samsung 950 Pro NVMe 256GB, Samsung EVO 250GB & 500GB SSD, 2TB Caviar Black, Zotac GTX 1080 AMP! The left tab has a check box near the bottom. Uncheck it and it will turn AeroPeek off. That is the same checkbox as on the right side of the taskbar. But I found my problem. I was not running any Aero desktop Theme, I was running solid background color. Selected one Aero theme and I got th disable the peek. I hope this solves the ALT TAB problem on my rig as well. Thanks for all the help, reps inbound :D
Sappo Posted December 16, 2011 Posted December 16, 2011 Also noticed the same problem, but not 100% of the time I also alt-tab out often to check TS or use the TARS panel. Maybe 30% of the time when going back into game its as if everything has a contrasting layer over it, the whole screen... as if someone cranked the Gamma up too far. Anyways, I will try the posted suggestion of disabling the Aero peek now!
71st_Mastiff Posted January 11, 2012 Posted January 11, 2012 yes doesn't work for me, it still changes my HDR settings to cold when I have them set at normal.
