DudleyAz Posted September 30, 2011 Posted September 30, 2011 I am lucky enough to have a home cockpit to fly in. :joystick: While it is awsome for 'yanking and banking', it isn't the best for long periods of normal mouse/keyboard type work, like spending hours in the mission editor developing custom missions. Is there any way to install just the mission editor on my second PC.. which is on the other side of the house... without violating the '1 license per PC' agreement? I have thought about installing the open beta version on my desktop and using the ME from that, but have there been a bunch of upgrades to the ME now that we are on .09 that would make this impractical? Any input is greatly appreciated. Dud If it worked perfectly... what's the fun in that? :joystick:
159th_Falcon Posted September 30, 2011 Posted September 30, 2011 I think the 1 license per PC means your only allowed to use it on one PC at a time. Your free to activate the game on 100 computers if you'd like to, as long as you only use one at a time. As for using the Beta version, don't even bother, a LOT has changed since, in all aspects of the game including the Mission Editor. ~S~ [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] The keeper of all mathematical knowledge and the oracle of flight modeling.:)
cichlidfan Posted September 30, 2011 Posted September 30, 2011 The mission editor does not require a key to run. You would not be able to use the 'fly' button but you can edit missions all day long. Just install the game but don't ever start a mission and only adjust settings and use the ME and you are good to go. I have it installed but not played on my laptop for exactly that reason. Nixon Posted September 30, 2011 Posted September 30, 2011 Yeah Ive wished for a stand alone ME for a while. Id love to be able to create something off my gaming rig, but without pushing the fly button it would be hard to confirm unit placement or sight lines...etc.

Have DCS 1.1.0.9 installed on my Eee-Pc (!! Atom processor) with Win7 only for mission editing. ...took about 30min to install(from an external drive)... - OK... it's not as fast as on my sim-computer ,but it runs fine! Sight lines you can get pretty close if you pay attention to elevations of nearby terrain. Not perfectly, but pretty good. I just use if for the things I would do before getting picky. Some things don't require fine adjustment. I once made a set of landing training missions for every runway on the map. The ME by itself was perfect for that. DudleyAz Posted October 1, 2011 Author Posted October 1, 2011 An iPad app would be perfect! But until then, I'll just install it on the desktop and only use ME. Thanks for the input! Dud If it worked perfectly... what's the fun in that? :joystick:
