As of NOW the 104th server is hosting a GCI weekend! However this is NOT an official event more of a warm up for when we are going to have an 'official' weekend so there is no time tables for Fighter Controllers we are simply going to try and have the GCI stations manned as much as possible tonight Saturday and Sunday!

We are also going to try and have a JTAC station manned for the air to ground boys!

Please come in and join our server to take part in the fun, for the best experience join our TeamSpeak where our Fighter Controllers will be talking you onto the 'bad guys'

This type of flying is more realistic and great fun so if you have never tried it before please don't hesitate to come in and have a go!

This is an open event to all squadrons and public members so no sign up required etc

Some things to know!

If you are not sure of your brevity codes please check on this page where they are all listed

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Brevity_code

Don't worry we wont be using them all but it is handy to have this page to reference..

Blue GCI Callsign = MAGIC

RED GCI Callsign = GOLIATH

When calling the GCI controller you should use his callsign and tell him want you want... all details will be given as BRAA (Bearing Range Altitude Aspect) so if you want the details for your nearest bandit you would call on freq 'MAGIC, Phoenix 11 BRAA nearest bandit'

When using the Brevity Code 'PICTURE' please remember that this means your asking for an update on ALL enemy aircraft that the controller can see so try not to use this all the time.. its handy to call for the 'PICTURE' after departure and take your flight from there.

Great work 104th... will try to participate on Saturday and Sunday. Tried to participate in the 51st GCI weekend but could not because of the time frames. Hope to get some flying time in with GCI support. Should be fun. I tried a stock mission available in FC2 and it was great. :pilotfly:

Here are the main brevity codes we are using this weekend, please try to familiarize yourself with these codes.

Anchor/anchored

1. Orbit about a specific point; refueling track flown by tanker.

2. Informative call to indicate a turning engagement about a specific location.

Beam/beaming

Target stabilized within 70 to 110 degree aspect; generally (direction) given with cardinal directions: east, west, north, or south.

Bogey dope

Request for target information as briefed/available.

Commit/committed

Fighter intent to engage/intercept; controller continues to provide information.

Declare

Inquiry as to the identification of a specified track(s), target(s), or correlated group.

Extend

Short-term maneuver to gain energy, distance, or separation; normally with the (direction) intent of re-engaging.

Judy

Aircrew has radar/visual contact on the correct target, has taken control of the intercept, and only requires situation awareness information. Controller will minimize radio transmissions.

Naked

No radar warning receiver (RWR) indications.

New picture

Used by controller or aircrew when tactical picture has changed. Supersedes all previous calls and re-establishes picture for all players.

Picture

Provide tactical situation status pertinent to mission.

Pigeons

Magnetic bearing and range to homeplate (or specified destination). (Location)

Skate

Informative call/directive to execute launch and leave tactics.

Skosh

Aircraft is out of or unable to employ active radar missiles.

Snap (direction)

An immediate vector to the group described.

Status

Tiger

Enough fuel and ordnance to accept a commit.

What state

Report amount of fuel and missiles remaining. Ammunition and oxygen are reported only when specifically requested or critical.

Active = number of active radar missiles remaining.

Radar = number of semi-active radar missiles remaining.

Heat = number of IR missiles remaining.

Fuel = pounds of fuel or time remaining.

Some questions come up:

- one life (we suppose);

- how many rearming / refueling;

- mission duration ~ 3 hours;

- reconnection after landing, engine off, for FC 2 refreshing;

- we expect 25-30 pilots fro each side…

Hi Sergey,

Are you saying you are going to get a bunch of pilots for Oct 15 2000Z? Sounds like a great idea. We will supply mission, server and GCI!

Please let me know to be sure.

Let us just do this informally for now. Main mission goal will be the to wipe out ground targets. Unlimited lives.

For later on we can plan an Opfor with GCI. Maybe next month

Thanks

Well, I’ve talked with Aviasibir team, but they have ping 300 to your server. They afraid to have bad result from such high ping…

I have 250 avg ping to 104th server, stable, no lags, no jumping up and down, no problem…

Also UVAF going to participate… :smilewink:

So we expect 20 or more people for red side… :joystick:

The main point to have balance is to have operational ATC system… :smartass:

400 is a problem. 300 is not a problem.
